At the time, I was running fifteen to twenty miles per week. I started with Nike, but they didn't provide the arch support I needed and would roll over straining my ankles and knees. Tried Saucony and Addidas as well. They also failed. New Balance worked.

New Balance is a smaller company than Nike or Adidas. Sometimes the smaller companies actually put out a better product. Incidentally unlike their competition, New Balance manufactures their shoes in America. I am sure all of their factory workers are over fourteen too.

That is such an unfair statement, Jim, and a completely false assessment based on the facts.
It took both guts and integrity to take a knee in protest.
You may disagree with his views, but you can't really question either his guts or integrity.
And, don't forget, he did so at great cost to his career. In public. On TV. Not behind a keyboard and a fake name.
I think he was nuts to do it. But he is a man of his convictions. Perhaps that's why people are so pissed off???

Hey, bb1961, you didn't address the link from the NFL!
What the hell does this have to do with the Merrick Garland, errrr, SCOTUS hearings and your name calling?

I have bought Nike, New Balance, Adidas, Asics, Brooks, Saucony and probably a few other brands of running/workout shoes in my lifetime. You can get Nike shoes for as little as around $25 or you can spend $150. You get what you pay for. The cheaper the shoe the faster they will break down and the less protection they will give you. Depends on how you use them as to which brand and which model within the brand you should buy.
I really don't care one way or the other if the NFL allows players to take a knee during the National Anthem. I'd prefer that the players stop doing it since it's getting old and the point has been made. Time to move on.

No I won't burn mine. I use them quite regularly. I think there is more to Kaepernicks protest than meets the eye anyway. Guts and integrity aren't in the mix. His career was on a downward spiral, he wasn't getting along with Harbaugh and he was bucking to be traded anyway. He went for broke and this protest was an out, maybe it went further than he expected. Half the people will respect what he has done and half won't. Nothing will change and he doesn't have a future in this.

It is my impression that the shelters/donation boxes do not generally want old, wornout shoes.
Barely used ones should be donated, yes I agree with that.
I regularly give a homeless man near one of my properties money. However, he has to earn it. Generally, I have him knock on the window of an asshole down the street who I despise, and have him yell "fuck you asshole" at that guy.
Great entertainment!!
