Dannie, I totally agree we owe the oldtimers some form of respect for helping make the hobby what it is today. I have to disagree about them making this board what it is. This is a new board and times and rules change. We either have to grow with the changes and rules, or be left behind.

We are all in this together,so why not work together?
I have to agree with looiecypher on the respect thing though. Do not demand something you are not willing to give in return.

I am going to state my view or opinion of this thread. I 100% agree a provider should not send unsolicited texts or make an unsolicited call to a hobbyist/client, unless he states it is OK. In that case, it becomes an agreement between those two individuals. Several of our single guys have stated they do not mind receiving the texts or phone calls, so they are entitled to their opinion. Several of our married guys have stated they DO NOT like receiving unsolicited texts or calls from a provider, so as a provider we should respect that.

I personally do not contact clients for business unless they contact me first. I do not send a text to just say HI unless I have been contacted by the client first and told it was OK. Do I have some single clients/friends who I text on a regular basis? Yes I do and they text me back and said from the beginning it was OK. Do I have married clients who I text? No, I do not under any circumstance text them unless they contact me.

My point about the times and rules changing is because it has over the past 10 years. (yes I have been around for that long) Ten years ago, you would have not even seen a thread like this. Does it make it wrong today? No, not at all. New subjects and questions come up that needs to be addressed. We have to learn how to address each subject with common respect for each other, even if we disagree.

I have a personal set of rules I follow as most providers do about discretion and respect for our clients. But when one says it is OK for this and that, and if you are comfortable with it, then you adapt the rule for that client. It is kind of like a session in some ways. You adapt the session or experience to each client...

(This is my opinion and I am entitled to it)
