I didn't read the entire thread, but I can tell you the government didn't directly do this. They did however pressure the credit card companies to stop doing business with backpage because of their adult sections that may or may not assist in sex trafficking. Without revenue or the ability to get payments from Mastercard and visa, backpage shut these sections themselves.

Those are just the domain names not the website, you could still get to the site by using the IP address and there is no way the feds could stop that

Now everything is getting major hits everywhere. My website views have tripled if not quadrupled yesterday! Phone ringing, weird requests... I hope that when all of these BP users, men and women alike venture out of their "BP world" they will see how dumb it was.

No screening, $20-$40-$60-$80 specials are just plain dangerous!

That has already happened long ago. I tried to post in Backpage in spring of 2016, and the only way of paying for your ads were Bitcoins or by sending in a money order ...
