Hookers is a historical term coming from the ladies who followed Gen. Hooker's men during the Civil War (War Between the States for you true southerners). Therefore, a ladies who travels about in search of clients can be more accurately described as a "hooker".

I prefer the terms provider or escort over whore, concubine or hooker, just as I prefer the term policeman instead of cop or pig. If I receive bad service, I may use one of the alternate terms, but I have only found a few occasions where I felt a need to do so.

What ever you want to be called, introduced as ,or referred as makes no difference, it's how it's said and meant. The study of Micro-mannerism's can be fascinating but it seems the providers want us to use certain terms with certain identifiers when referring to them or themselves.

If someone introduces a person who takes money for sex as any of the preferred terms, as soon as they walk away, they are referred to in the negative terms you don't find appealing.

This is a perfect example of using a term perceived as derogatory to define what a someone is. Most of the ladies do not want to be referred to as a "whore". However, in the author's defense of the nomenclature, he used a derogatory term.

I agree that what they do is definitely a challenge. What I don't agree with is singling a certain demographic out because they have "hard lives". Most of us have hard lives in some capacity. Now, a lot of these ladies are incredibly successful and are bringing in income hand over fist.

I am all for being old fashioned, but this is damn near 2016! How many people express discontent over calling doctors "quacks" or lawyers "crooks"? You don't hear a lot of bitching about it because those are two respected lines of work.

I use the full spectrum of the terms. However, at the end of the day, I respect the individual, not because they have a hard life and I pity them (hell, I'm sure some are living more plush lives than us), but because all people deserve it. Whether you're a Congressman or a Garbage man, you have my respect.

They are whores when it comes down to being on a "whore board". But when it comes down to a session, they become an individual. This is where I ensure I am proactively good, kind, and courteous because every person deserves that.
