I've been trying to convince myself not to wade into the middle of this particular Urinary Olympics, but what the hell.

First, some background. The current SNATCH thread was endorsed and supported by a moderator who is no longer present. Don't know why, and really don't care, but I do recall his departure occurred during another manufactured event sponsored by the non-hobbyist known as Whispers.

It is one thing to claim a post is about cleaning up a forum you don't use, but it is another to so flagrantly display such a massive hard-on for one particular moderator. I would have bought the carefully crafted excuses about the thread had the title been different. This was never about the SNATCH thread, it was entirely about wanting another go at a moderator, trying to lure the moderator into a trap for some personal pleasure.

Clearly the ownership of the board has expressed support for a thread that generates so many views. As Whispers has instructed us in the past, views means money. The SNATCH get views and that makes money for the board.

Personally, I've never had success with the SNATCH. I've tried multiple times to contact supposedly available providers. I've never succeeded, but apparently others are. That is cool with me. I occasionally look over the recent posts, and yes the abuse of the posting rules are annoying, but so what? It still is generating views.

A solution to the SNATCH "problem" is possible, at least theoretically. I've personally done work in vB creating custom forms that limit and control what is entered in specific forums. Admittedly this was on a later release of vB, but the same thing could be done with the eccie version of vB. A moderately smart programmer could even code the form to check for previous postings within a specified time before allowing the post. Or an automated process to analyze daily posts to the SNATCH thread could be configured to run at say 5 am and automatically issue points to posts that exceed some defined rules. Ladies would get automatic unpaid vacations, mods get some sleep, St. Christopher rolls in the dough, and Whispers is left looking for a new issue. It isn't going to happen though, probably for the same reason the software is still configured to allow women to post in review threads. Sorry for the dig...

I think the real issue here was touched on by a previous poster. Maybe the SNATCH was stealing Whispers' glory as the cash cow of eccie.

Having said all that, I'm still trying to figure out Whispers' motivation. I find I ultimately agree with some of his conclusions, I just can't handle the drama required before he unveils them for us to see. Too often a Whispers thread is like "The Days of Our Lives" or "General Hospital". You can miss a day, week, month, hell even years and get right back into the story the next time you find yourself in the hospital with nothing else to watch.

The final word to confuse things even more. I've met Whispers, in a private party setting, and he was a gentleman to all. Good conversationalist, good storyteller, not overbearing. Not at all what I was expecting.

You ealize that kind of attitude (or proven behavior on the part of a MOD) gives someone like me a license to wreck havoc!

Damn! You caught me on an off day huh? I think I recall that night.... I met SFK then as well and he went from being an unknown antagonist and sparring partner to a man I share some common stories with and now respect.

Yeah... actually meeting people tends to be a reality check.....More people should get out from behind their screens....

What some folks fail to accept about me and my participation here..... I find it damn entertaining the way some react!

the statement you make of being given any authority...it sheds light on your ego. you can fool some people but not all whispers. you crave attention, your obsessed with mokoa, getting him removed and becoming the emperor of san antonio in you own diluted self righteous mind. I think that if you ever became a mod for san antonio even though one minute you want the button and next you say you dont want to be a mod, that san antonio would cease to exist on this board.

i think that at least 95% of the guys on here, could give a rats ass when it comes to violations of the snatch forum. and the fact that it wasnt moderated to everyones liking. we really dont give a damn. we are here to find ass, and find out which girls suit our liking. and that is really about it. i think it is safe to say that the majority of us are just happy the way things are, dont let it effect you so much.

I understand that... There are a lot of ladies though that had/have a problem with it and the real problem lies in a MOD demonstrating that some guidelines/rules matter and others do not or that he can enforce those guidelines/rules on some and not others..... That sets things up very unfair to some in the community as well as allows others to undermine him that understand the system...
