He said it was about a 250 yard shot across a Hay Field. 59.5 grns of 4831 behind a 178 gn A-Max.
Impressive, how many B&C points did it score?

Not a very pretty rack. 7 on one side, 5 the other. Irregular spread, But a big buck for East Texas, my son said it should field dress at over 150 lbs.

Judging from the teeth, he said the deer had to be at least 5 years old. He hunts for the meat, which I don't care for myself. I bought him a nice sausage making machine a while back, I do like the sausage.

They have clear cut so much land up in that area., it has changed some of the hunting tactics. Where you used to sit in a blind in heavy woods, you can now set up at the edge of a wood line across a field. This is the first year he has hunted like this, and it paid off.

I had a deer lease between Crockett and Palestine for over 20 years. We took some good bucks off of that lease but we managed the herd ourselves. The property owner sold the acreage and we had to find a new place to hunt. No doubt, the new owners benefitted from the strict deer management program we implemented.

Damn, I miss that place!

Unfortunately, we were unable to coordinate dates this year until late in the Colorado hunting season.

The bad news: You never know what kind of weather you will get in the mountains that late in the year.

The good news:

The worst day out in the Colorado wilderness is still better than the best day at the office!

Wow good luck on the hunt ! I didnt know liberals hunted deer. Thought they all supported PETA and such. I know most libs hate guns, do you ?
Kinda hard to kill a deer with a rock but still it can be done, just not routinely.

You're too fucking ignorant to know the difference rioseco.

You probably ought to pay attention to the conversation before sticking your foot on your mouth. Of course, your Rush Limbaugh secret decoder ring probably told you it was OK to be a low information squeeZedick.
