As a hobbyist, I find Eros a PITA, period. First of all, there are lots of rumors out there about whether or not the ads are posted by verified providers...don't remember where I saw this discussed, but it kind of makes me shy away. Also, I read that you shouldn't trust an ad there that doesn't have a website referenced. Lots don't.
Second, I like all the information in the ad (or at least most of it). Name, area served, stats (including height & age), rates, links to reviews, and webpage. Few Eros ads have these. So, I prefer P411, where most of these items exist.

Me and HDHs don't belong in the same sentence...as I'm sure you are well aware.

You can't reasonably compare P411 with Eros. Apples and Oranges.
Eros is an advertizing medium ONLY.
P411 is an advertizing medium and a screening and verification service.
To work effectively as the latter (s & v) of course the women are going to be legit...just as the men are...Gina makes sure of that. Eros only has to make sure that the women are of age to be advertizing the services they are...not that they DO actually provide them.
Eros couldn't give a shit if people are legit or not.
They make money on advertizing and they make more by NOT screening for legitimacy. It works because men have sites to cross reference with...like P411 or TER. Agreed that there are a lot of flakey ads on there and if you are going to limit your research to looking at ads only then you'll probably get caught out. Also, Eros has a limit on the number of words/photos you can place on your ad...so its in a woman's best interest to keep it short and sweet on there IF you want men to read your site before contacting you. In short if you like, Eros caters to women...just as TER caters to men. Not all men on there are legit and just as women have to do their research on the men, the converse is true for men with Eros.
I do like P411 though...and I also like RS2K. The bottom line is that Eros has an established wider reach. In some areas P411/RS2K are just not used by men at all. Yes, it's a lot more work for both sides of the gender coin but it is what it is.
C
Edit: Charles. Didn't mean to sound pedantic..I see why you use P411..and hell, why not? If it works and its less intensive great! It's just annoying at times that people slam Eros for not verifying when they have never advertized themselves as a verification service. xx

I agree w/ you. Lots of reasons not to like Eros. Even though it is widely used.
I pulled the trigger & joined P411, mostly because it's in Canada, and LE subpoenas won't reach there. Now that I'm in Chicago (for a short time), I'm considering RS2K since it is so widely used here. I **do** like the membership structure. But I haven't convinced myself that they destroy info even tho they say they do. And since they are in the US...well, you get the idea.

Underage Trafficking???
I don't think this "beef" with the Craigslist Adult Services section has much to do with Underage trafficking. I think this is a publicity stunt, against prostitution, by politician because of the election year. I haven't seen anything in the months I've watched CL that's proven to me that CL is the main hub to human trafficking or underage trafficking.
The United States has posed a "War on Prostitution" much like it's war on drugs. It's as simply as that. The general public could care less about prostitution in the failing economy. No one cares that a 25 year old is selling a$$ for c$sh, but spin this story in the press that some pimp is selling teenagers for cash and this is another story indeed.
Has anyone else wondered if they plan to stop with CL? There are many other avenues for advertising services. In my opinion CL audience had began declining over the past year because of it's bad publicity. Many providers have moved to boards such as these or other sites. I been told by many not to trust CL for many reasons including but not limited to fake pics, robbers, and LE posing as providers.
I don't think that the closing of CL will stop all the bait and switch and "bottom feeders" as one person mentioned. However, have you guess wondered how the average joe that doesn't know about ECCIE or the other boards is getting his fix. Many will probably turn back to agencies and street walkers. As least for the time being anyway.

We now have the most liberal president EVER leading the most liberal Senate and House EVER. Why hasent the legalization of prostitution not been folded into the Health Bill, The Stimulue Package (no joke or pun) or the Financial Reorganization bill?
If they open up the Dont Ask/Don't Tell policy for the armed forces why not make Pay-For-Play an approved option as well?
Ron Paul would. His son, would too. Now THATS liberal.

O isn't a liberal. He's a Socialist dictator wannabe. Those are the kind who, like the holy rollers, always find their way into your bedroom. They just use a different route.
Libertarianism all the way. They stay out of your bedroom AND your wallet.

Would that it were true. Clearly FDR had a much more liberal Congress as did LBJ when Medicare and Medicaid were passed. If the spineless, centrists Democrats that occupy the legislature now were around at the time, we wouldn't have Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid (the three most important and effective anti-poverty programs of the 20th century) or the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, etc. Likewise, the Congress under Nixon, which passed OSHA, EPA and many other progressive bills was likely more liberal. I've had my belly full of weak, spineless Democrats. For us to have had a cloture-proof majority in the Senate and the majority we had in the House and only have gotten the weak, prop up the insurance industry health care bill is appalling.

Okay, something TTH & I agree on. Obamacare is a piece of shit bill. Hopefully the SCOTUS will rule in Virginia's favor on the mandate and chuck the whole damn thing (no separation clause).

The legalization of Prostitution bill would have at least created jobs here in America.
Where are all those GREEN jobs Obama promised that billions would buy? Not in the US if the money wasn't totally wasted....

Like I said, he is out taking a Newport and a round of golf....
