I am always amazed by the guys who say "americans the only super power who is going to attack us". They are oblivious to whats going on in the world I guess, we will not be the only superpower for long, as China is rapidly gaining on us. For those who say that no one is close to equalling our technology and no one is trying to, again live with their head in the sand. Last week it was announced that China has developed a Carrier killing missle that can defeat the defenses on our carriers. DO you understand what that means, our carriers are how we bring the war to other countries, if you knock out a carrier your killing 6000 crew members and destroying billions of dollars in Aircraft. Carriers are the center point from which all stratagy is developed. I also love these people that think the only people we will ever be fighting are terrorists. People say that Russia and CHina are our friends, 30 years ago they weren't and 30 years from know..... who knows. The time to find out is not after you realize that we have been surpassed in technology.

Then answer me this, where do we cut, do we cut the size of the military personnel, put 100,000 men and women back into the job force to compete for jobs, do we cut back on advanced technology while other countrys dont and if we do were are all the companies that produce the parts to make the new technology, do we kick them to the street, its the same argument you leftys used for buying GM, if GM failed what about all those jobs at companys that support GM, same for the military, KC would be hit very hard, Garmin does a lot for the military, Honeywell (the former bendix plant), Twin City Tool in Olathe, there are hundreds of companys tied into the military, where do those jobs go. Do we need a million more unemployeed people. Besides even if we cut the budget, reduced the size of the military, do you really think the money would be saved, they would spend it on some other bullshit program. Besides cheaper where have you been we have a health care bill, or have you forgotten. Or are you saying you want the government to pay it, typical, of todays American, fuck protecting the country, give me something for free.

China won't attack us. We owe them too much money. I think this is Obama's defense strategy, if we owe everyone in the world money, we will be safe. Well, they may break our kneecaps, but they won't destroy us until we've paid them back.

The next step will be to get North Korea, Iran and Afghanistan to finance more of our deficit. Then we will be able to sleep better at night. Of course, when our grandchildren ask us "What the hell were you thinking? We have to pay this back at enormous interest," we can just tell them we did it for them, so they could grow up in as great and free a country as we did. The problem will be explaining to them what "free" means. To them, free will mean free health care, free food, free rent, courtesy of our friends in China. Freedom of speech, thought, etc., will be amusing concepts from their history class.

In simple terms people (Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Kim Il-Sung, etc) don't attack countries that are prepared for them. Today we have Russia, China, North Korea (again), Venezuela, Iran, and world wide Muslim terrorism. You can ask what damage can Venezuela or Iran can do to us (at least you would admit that China and Russia are dangerous) since they are so small. If 10,000 Americans die the US is not noticeably damaged but what do you say to those people. Americans used to be a known quantity in the world. If you attack us, we will destroy your country. If you are a lunatic and attack us, we will hunt you down. There was no question what would happen if you attacked us. Today, our leadership has demonstrated all too frequently that under some circumstances you can get away with attacking the US or US citizens. Venezuela nationalized some US oil platforms about four weeks ago and we did nothing about it. There was no comment in the press or from the White House. We gave in just like the British did. Those platforms should have been turned into junk as should have the Orion the Chinese forced down in 2001.
Believe me when I say the world is still a very dangerous place and only a robust military with several different strategies is our protection and our means for justice.

dirty common you know this went far south of what i wanted but in the end I just like that it went that way but i don't want the left or right Or even the ragan game just tell a dumb guy like why a city that is in top ten places to live raised my taxes & why the city conslae don't know how to make this work

Cheaper all those freebies you like have to be paid by someone, besides you like those services that keep you safe like fire departments and Police departments. When you have people not working their not paying taxes which means revenue projections far short, so as with all things government, the people who are still working must pick up the slack. So hey welcome to the kind of world you want.

By the way if you didnt want the military buget discussed you should not have posted a post discussing it.
