So back to Dannie's post.

When I realized I was still being used as a reference...on a regular basis, I did make some changes to my profile to help folks understand I wouldn't be able to answer emails quickly, take appointments, etc.

I was not "retired" per-say - but I was not active enough to have you ladies count on me for a quick reference & at by the point Dannie was asking for this one client's reference, it a year after he had reviewed me. I would even say that was the last time he saw me.

So, Just for fucks sake - I went to double check the detals on this one - and I know that I had told him around the Holidays that I wasn't working, and to please not have any more providers contact me, since it had been back in July when he last saw me. He was asking you to get a reference from me, when it had a been a year since I saw him last, several months after I had already spoken to him about not using me as a ref.

He's done plenty of other reviews - and I'm sure he's seen plenty he's not reviewed.

More than 12 after me and more than 6 before me - all of which could have been usuable, potentially good refs...

4-5 that were before me that I recognize their names.

And about 5 that were after me, and prior to when he wanted to book with you, that he could have used.

Several times this client, and another client made good use of contacting me to see if I would drop everything to come see them right then and there...when I was working as angie (not on indefinite hiatus). And if I couldn't - I would give them names of girls I thought they MIGHT like. Of course, non were good enough, or if they were, wouldn't do what I would do - rate wise, or drive out to where they were, etc..etc.

I've even had them call/text me and I'd be getting ready, and then have them say nevermind - and then get a call from a provider asking for me to OK the client. "Sure, he's safe." (In the back of my mind, I'm thinking DOUCHE...AT LEAST LET ME KNOW YOU ARE CANCELLING FIRST AND THAT OTHER GIRLS MIGHT BE CALLING ME. I could have been doing other things.)

So even if they were safe "bcd" - after that much time has gone by, and I KNOW I have given them a good stash of OK's and they have posted reviews on other ladies, then they should be able to get you other ladies besides me.

If that makes me a cockblocker, because I'm looking out for you as well as me. So be it. I'm not tryin to fuck em. I'm tryin to say - it's been forever since they saw me, and they were acting a bit funny the last times they were tryin to book, and adding those together - makes me think you should get someone MORE RECENT to get an OK from.

I agree to a point. The point I was trying to make was, take that annoyed attitude and throw it at the guy using YOU as his reference.

How was I to know he was acting funny the last several times he tried to book with you unless I ask?? Fucking forgive me for askin you for a ref! Shit!

This is how I work:
Man sends references, I check them. I was slightly taken aback when the response I got, was you being annoyed with me for *gasp* checking the reference he gave me.

I don't go PM'ing all the ladies a guy reviews, because I believe in discretion but we all work in different ways.

At the point you got my request, you should have turned that bitterness you threw at me, towards him. He's the one throwing your name around.

You are one of those providers that I don't need to check up on, or go through all their posts, or read their profiles to see what they have been up to. For instance, I wouldn't need to go through all of Elizabeth Whisper's posts, check her sig line, look at who she's seen, etc., because of her rep. Lots of other ladies that I don't feel like I need to research, esp those who have been around for damn near a decade.

We aren't buddies in or out of the hobby so I'm not sure how you just expected me to know how long you had been gone or when your last fuckfest was. So, my only complaint was the shit attitude you gave me for asking. I wouldn't call it cockblocking, just general bitchyness. It's not what you say but how you say it, and all that good stuff. But, I tend to be friendly and helpful when I get reference requests, even when it's a douchebag trying to use me as his reference....so maybe we just do things differently. I don't shoot the messenger.

On a side note ... and this happened to me last week, I've been asked for references from an escort and then, I cannot reach her!

For example, I have a client that I've seen a few times. He's very nice but he's just not on this board, that I know of.

A lady called me for a reference. I was on it and called her back. Her phone wouldn't take messages. And it wasn't possible to text her back. She's NOT on ECCIE and so I couldn't PM her.

I tried to contact her twice and then just figured that she could contact me again.

So it probably came across as I didn't follow up on her reference request. That little situation still bothers me because I cannot contact my client to tell him that I wasn't ignoring his reference check.

So this is an example of the flip side of references. I make it a point to answer references before almost anything else. But damn, if you're not available for me to contact you back, what options do I actually have?

Sigh.
