You brought up tariffs, on command, from Pravda Central. I'm just showing you actually reality. Sure... I admit, I should have warned you to fasten your seat belt and to keep your arms and legs inside the car. But reality don't give much of a crap about your extremities...

And now, you're stuck with me on the tippy top of the next page...

This is the post I was referring to:

"If you don't do the homework assignment, I can't grade your paper."

The post above is not an improvement.

...is a real problem in the world. I vaguely recollect you did not view the 78 second video in my posting or check out the links I proffered. As such, I really can't assist further in directing you towards actual reality. Though I at least cared enough to try.

While I am not a Doctor IRL or on the internets, may I suggest:

Unfortunately you clearly did not pay attention to posts # 26 and # 30.

If you want to turn a blind eye to what Mr. Trump has been proposing, that is up to you. You are now beginning to make some truly oddball posts. (putting it politely).

And you are now showing interest in insulting other posters. Hope you understand the forum guidelines.

Although I already know what will happen, I think I'll just go with what Walmart and Lowe's tell us about the likely impact of these brilliant tariffs. I could be wrong, but I think those two retailers sell a few things.

I guess MAGAs don't mind paying extra as long as their master is at the helm.

Mr. Trump is the one you should be aiming at, since he has been discussing imposing general tariffs of 10 to 20% across the board.

Trump Pledges Tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China

WASHINGTON—President-elect Donald Trump pledged that soon after taking office he will slap steep tariffs on Mexico and Canada, two of America’s closest allies, as well as China, the clearest indication since his election victory that he plans to follow through on the tough campaign rhetoric that helped propel him to the White House.
Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump said that on the first day of his presidency he will charge Mexico and Canada a 25% tariff on all products coming into the U.S. He added in a separate social-media post that he would impose an additional 10% tariff on all products that come into the U.S. from China, though he didn’t specify whether that levy would come on his first day in office. Such a tariff would come on top of existing tariffs the U.S. has already imposed on Chinese goods.

So right off the bat Trump wants to implement a 25% tariff on one of our primary trading partners and at the same time asks them to take in millions of deportees.

I’m sure that’s going to go over well.

Oh, I'm not seeing how you consider anyone a "partner" when they are flooding your country with interlopers, criminals and contraband.

BTW: It's with Canada also. So there are two right out the gate.

Try to not be burdened by what has been.

Trump isn’t trying to deport millions of people to Canada. What incentives will we have to give Mexico to take back these people while helping to destroy a part of their industrial base?

If the actual purpose of these tariffs is to restore the US manufacturing sector deporting workers to the places where we’re placing the tariffs seems more than a little crazy to me.

I don’t see any rhyme or reason to anything he’s saying or doing unless pissing off pretty much every one but his base is the goal.

Seems the answer is in the question. Seems they have a choice to make based on their own best interests.

So I guess post # 42 is not all....

You don't seem to realize it is your pal Mr. Trump that has the idea of imposing 10 to 20% tariffs across the board.....not an academic in post # 42.

Once you realize that, you will be better able to discuss this topic.

In another life earlier in my career, I worked as a management consultant for a firm and my focus was on costs. Obviously, one of the biggest operation expenses for any company is labor regardless of the size of the company. Anyway, I learned a lot about BPO (business process outsourcing) and quickly realized the savings gained from that to pass along options to the clients whether it was onshore, nearshore or simply offshore labor.

I won't go on and on about this shit, but offshore labor for these Fortune 500 companies was/is mainly sent to India or the Philippines. My point is I think it would be more productive if Trump put more emphasis on getting so many of those lower tier white-collar $25-$40/hr jobs back here in the states than focusing so much on manufacturing jobs that are not going to come back here no matter how much he tries to bully these countries with his tariffs.

And yeah, I know, easier said than done but it just sounds more productive to me than tariffs that will ultimately be mostly passed along to the American consumer at the end of the day without realizing its intended result.
