One would hope so, it really isn't that hard to do, to calmly, with civility, give a different opinion.

The fossil record in not yet to a point to prove that Apes, simian species, and humans all descend from a 'universal common ancestor" - a thought used by Fundamentalists to decry the Theory of Evolution.
yet, IMHO - the Bible describes '7days' of creation - yet does not specify what is a day, or how a Universal Creator operated. A 'day' could be millenia in terms of a 'Universal Creator."
I personally see no conflict - nor should flexible minds see conflict between the religious story and the scientific method.

I have heard of a scientific explanation for the parting of the Red Sea(Chuck Heston use to make good movies) and for Noah's Arc.
Perhaps there is no conflict between religious story and scientific method.
However, I have not heard of any scientific explanation for how the first born Egyptian got some deadly disease but the first born of Jewish parents did not which was in the same Chuck Heston movie. Moses led the Jews out of bondage and they had to travel around in the desert for 40 years for participating in poor behavior. The universal creator (as you call it) got upset with them.
I have not heard of a scientific explanation for how the Virgin Mary had a son. Maybe there was some type of In Vitro Fertilization procedure 2100 years ago.
I won't get into the miracles that Christ was supposed to have performed like curing Leoprocisy. That is for another time.
Some people think that the "universal creator" that you refer to does operate in mysterious ways.
Oeb, you had a decent post going until you went on a tangent with the aoc concentration camps.

'a' - Noah's Ark.
you had a decent post going on until You went on your usual godless, marxist prosecution of anything not of teh marxist DPST idiotology.
science - is not the fiden/ fauci cabal - they just tell you that to keep you in line and to force obedience.

Your first mistake would seem to be getting your information from a Chuck Heston movie. Here's hopping you were just being sarcastic

some explanation is found in the belief of a transcendent God
by whom all things were created
and that at times, in furtherance of His plan for His creation, God acted in history, either by using nature or super nature (that is what supernatural is, you should well know)
and the Bible, then, is the repository of that plan for His creation and the actions taken

The parting of the Red sea so that Moses and the children of Israel could get across but not the soldiers of Egypt comes right out of the bible. No Sunday school for you Counselor? Try reading the book of Exodus in the Old Testament.
The movie the TEN Commandments staring A-list actor Chuck Heston, ABC would show that movie every Easter Sunday all the way up until the 1990's. I don't know if they still do that. I haven't seen that movie in 15 years at least. However, I have seen it more than once.
I was just pointing out that science can explain some biblical stories. However, there are some biblical stories that science can't explain. A good example the birth of Jesus. I would hope that you would agree that it is not plausible or probable that a woman who has never had sex (Virgin Mary) could get pregnant and have a child ( not back then). I was not trying to tell anyone to stop going to church.

Sorry but the Bible has never been the go to book for me to explain anything. But if that is what you chose to believe, knock yourself out.
No Sunday school for you Counselor?
Nope, not a single day. I have spent one day in a church and that was my older sister's wedding in 1968.
Try reading the book of Exodus in the Old Testament.
No thanks, but I have seen the movie. What any of this has to do with evolution, escapes me.

Still going strong. Already seeing the up coming promotions for this season.
I was just pointing out that science can explain some biblical stories. However, there are some biblical stories that science can't explain.
One can not explain something that never happened. If science can't explain something, it is more than likely ( Occam's razor perhaps ) that "something" never happened but that is for each individual to decide. I don't get to nor do I want to decide for everybody. Just giving my opinion.
A good example the birth of Jesus. I would hope that you would agree that it is not plausible or probable that a woman who has never had sex (Virgin Mary) could get pregnant and have a child ( not back then). I was not trying to tell anyone to stop going to church.

"If" God exists and is omnipotent, sure there could be a virgin birth, why not? The question always comes back to the same point I was trying to make. If there is a God, he she, it, could have chosen evolution as the means to bring about the existence of man and science tells us, that is the most likely scenario and that the sudden appearance of one man and one woman fully formed in the image we see today, is IMHO, nonsense but again, believe what you want to believe just don't force anybody, especially children in public schools to believe it.
Now enough with the Heston movies. Is in your opinion, evolution, fact, theory or both? We know for a scientific fact that species have evolved. I guess the question her is, is man excluded from that fact?
If you believe the Bible is truth ( I do not ), I guess I have the answer already. The thing that people should understand ( and perhaps do not ) about people like me, Agnostics, is that I do not deny the exist of God, a supreme being if you will, I'm just not willing to say "I believe that" absent scientific proof. I neither believe or disbelieve. It is irrelevant to my life.
Have a blessed day.

I gave two examples where science can explain a biblical story. I also gave two examples where science can't explain a biblical story. Regarding the statement above sometimes there is conflict and sometimes there isn't.
I like you have a hard time accepting something that can't be explained by science. However, I would not call myself an Agnostic.
You have a blessed day as well.
