Some folks are still issing the point:
I am talking about the "Right To Privacy" as found by the Supreme Court in the Roe Vs Wade decision.
I think this legal concept could be applied to mask wearing and vaccination.

I think you are still missing the point. You don't have the absolute right to do something that could injure another person, at least a person that has left the womb. Even Roe is not an absolute so how can it be used as an example of an absolute right to privacy?
When you leave your house and in some instances, still in your house, your right to privacy diminishes because you are not, well, private any more. Your "right" is not absolute in that a cop under the proper circumstances can frisk you. While you can assert your right to privacy, if you have a weapon or drugs on you and the cop had the proper authority to search you like you just walked out of a bank holding a bag with the alarm going off, he can search you and legally violate your right to privacy.
I understand the need to fight for our rights but sometimes it becomes obvious that a fight is a losing battle. I'd like to see a SC decision on mandating masks but I think it would be upheld but we are getting to the point where it may not matter because most businesses are asserting their right to not let you into their business without a mask. At this point, I don't see the point in arguing the matter when it is obvious that wearing a mask "could" not always will but could, save lives. It isn't that much to ask that we do this for a few more months to avoid a total shut down of the economy which is what is coming if we don't get a handle on this.
Roe v Wade was a compromise, a confusing one since in most states a woman does not have the right to sell her body for sex or sell an organ but does have the right to terminate a pregnancy without legal interference in the first trimester and questionable in the second. Good luck getting it done in the third trimester and you better have a good lawyer if you do.
If a woman did have the absolute right to privacy of her body, she could sell it legally, she can't. Case dismissed.
Your right to "chose" is not an absolute, never has been, never will be but hey, I'm all for the legal challenge. In the mean time. let's mask up and quite acting like it doesn't matter. I think the proof that it can "help" while not 100% effective is beyond doubt at this point.

So if the mask isn't 100% effective what are we gambling with, 25%, 50%, 75%, 90% effectiveness? I think to those who wear a mask it's 100% psychologically effective.

I don't think we know the number but I think we do know, it has effectiveness and that is enough to warrant the wearing of a mask IMHO.
Yes, I think there is a psychological component and we are seeing that by people getting into arguments when they encounter people who aren't wearing a mask.
Did you see the guy who had a meltdown, I think it was in a Wal-Mart. Somebody asked him why he wasn't wearing a mask and started filming. The guy throw a fit, said some things he shouldn't have said, ended up on the nightly news and the next day he was fired from his job for not representing the values of his company.
So everybody calm down, wear the damn mask whether it is 10% effective ( hopefully at least that ) or better and that ends the argument of effectiveness.
Is it really that big a deal? Unless of course one believes it's a conspiracy and you will not be held hostage and will not co-operate in any government conspiracy because...... because.....

The psychological component is the main reason why people react to this pandemic the way they do. Because out of fear they turn their will over to those they regard as experts. Then when a real expert contradicts what they have been told people regard that as conspiracy.

I'm confused. This looks like what you believe, that the real experts are engaged in a conspiracy. Who are the real experts? They're not people in epidemiology, public health, and medicine?

You make that sound like a life altering decision. We are talking about wearing a mask in public not giving up your 2nd amendment right. I'm not giving up my will, I'm conceding the result of a long, intelligent debate with all parties heard from.
And I'm with Tiny on this. Who are these real experts who are saying this is all a hoax or a government conspiracy? Are we talking Alex Jones here because I know of no expert that says this virus is not something to be taken serious and that it is made up so that Bill Gates or some other person can make more money or have more "imaginary" control over us like the Illuminati or Bilderburgs.

I am not going to say this pandemic is a hoax, But the information given by the media is contradictory to other sources so who are we to believe? I see more people wearing masks within the last month even driving with them on and yet every morning I read the paper the numbers of cases jumps several hundred, new deaths, new hospitalizations ect. So how is it that we take more precautions and yet the statistics rise. So is the information the media is giving false, exaggerated is this whole thing a hoax. I ask these questions because none of it makes much sense at all.

I wear a mask because if I try to go to work without one-- I'll not have a job. I'm quite fond of my paycheck, so I wear the damn mask.
While we're on the subject of personal rights-- if it were easier for a woman to get surgically sterilized, there would be a lot fewer abortions. Its actually harder for a woman to get her tubes tied than it is to get an abortion. Most states, we have to have 2 kids already, be above a certain age-- and in some cases OUR SPOUSES HAVE TO SIGN CONSENT. That's right.. we need "permission".... so-- yeah, not really hearing this whole argument over bodily autonomy.

So you're wearing a mask more to prevent a pink slip than a virus. I would probably do the same thing.

What's the real media? All main stream media is owned by the same people. You're not getting information by switching channels. I don't even watch Television anymore.

Partially. The other part lies in that.. if a little piece of fabric makes people feel better-- whatever. It might help, it might not... but it helps the mentality enough to have businesses back open. Its a conditional win in my book
