So yea, I am one of those who is always broke. Mainly because I might make 600 but have to put out 1000. Circumstances always put me behind the ball it seems. I can't get ahead. Every time I do, something else happens. But hey, it's life right?

Sure, some of us have tried. But since we have been out of the "regular" work force for awhile, nobody will hire us. Are you in a hiring position and have a job opening? Or how 'bout this-you just pay for me to go back to school. Then I can change career fields in a year or two.

I should be so lucky. I could pay my bills on that.

I wish I could get rich off all of the men who think we are actually making enough money to be rich.

Meg
I'm right there with Meg on this.

I separated from my husband last June. At first I was doing great when I moved out. I had money set aside for the hard times even. But since November of 2009 I've hit rock bottom.

I have refused to ask for help from anyone on this board. I've been job hunting daily. I go to temp services, look on CL at the job listings and send out resumes, drive around looking for "Help Wanted" signs in windows. It hasn't been fucking easy at all.

Thank GOD I have a great landlord or I would have been homeless months ago because I'm now 4 months behind on rent. But even that's come to an end and I've got until the end of the month to "Pay up or GET OUT!"

And Thank GOD I have a regular client that does front me his fee from time to time so I can at least get my internet bill paid or buy groceries to feed my son and myself. He's been a lifesaver on this part.

I've ran Specials, Discounts even offering to GIVE away hours for FREE. I've got outstanding reviews and I provide outstanding service so I know it's not me. It's the freaking ECONOMY that has everyone broke. When are clients are struggling to pay their household expenses it sets us back even farther.

And even though I'm going to be homeless in 2 weeks with a child... YOU still don't see me on this board begging for help. I haven't given up hope... I'm still searching every corner for a job hoping something comes along.

I do have to say at Christmas time, PPE did a wonderful thing for me and many other ladies. If it wasn't for him and the Angel Tree my son would have even done without at that time.

And like Meg, I've been back and forth to so many doctors lately it's not funny. And it seems that one thing after the other continues to happen. And even though I've got medical insurance, it still cost me that co-pay and alot of times I don't have it. The last few weeks have been tough trying to work while on crutches becasue of torn legaments in my leg. But Damnit I've been trying when something does come along.

I'm NOT GIVING UP!

Anyone got a job they want to offer me so I can support myself?

I am sure there are many customers that have higher incomes, but many of us are just average Joes with families. And according to statistics, we are not spending our money like we used to with the economic uncertainty. We are trying to save more in case we end up joining the almost 10% who are unemployed. (And remember, "unemployed" just counts those who are actively seeking work, not those that have given up looking or taken temporary or part-time jobs).

Times are tough and businesses based on high dollar discretionary spending are hit hard. I know I rarely am able to see anyone now other than a few old school providers I am comfortable with that also provide a substantial discount on their regular rates. But they have very low expenses as they work out of their homes. Heck, I even have to figure in my cost in gas if I want to see someone in Dallas!

Lady, you are so right on so many things in your first post but I hope those who plow through this thread didn't miss the part about "finding the real need." There, sports fans and athletic supporters, is the real nugget.

Oh, yeah, earlier there was another on target musing about enjoying the misfortune of others. Ask ol' Abel about the brother's keeper "who me?" bit and how it worked out for him. Some of the ladies do just like Texas Starr and it's still not enough. Shit, let's just fuck 'em all until their eyes bulge out (figuratively) and then *tisk tisk* them - very manly.

Where's the surprise that there are some manipulative game players in the provider ranks? The hobbiests, as was proved over and over on ASPD, are certainly not immune to this affliction, either. There is an often overlooked definition of "critical" that centers around examining every aspect of things objectively in order to discover the essence of the facts.

In this venue, with the availability of so many skilled and willing providers, someone is only taken advantage of if they allow it.

I would love to jump in on this conversation, but I can't since I am a mod, and have
to watch what I say...I dont get to speak my mind as a provider anymore
I lost that right when I took this mod spot...but I can say this much with out
getting in to trouble....and I hope I don't offend or hurt anyone's feeling!!!!!!!
because these are only "MY" feelings due to my up bringing......I will always
remember what my daddy told me growing up...you know how another kid
would have some candy and you would beg or ask for some...my dad would
snatch me up and tell me "Never" beg or ask anyone for anything....If I can't
give it to you or you can't get it yourself, you don't need it..If you want anything
in life you have to get it yourself..Take Pride In being who you are....Do Not Depend on others....

That is why I work 2 jobs...just so I don't have to ask for help...Besides
my Daddy would kill me.....lol

@Fawn, your dad and my dad must have been buddies when they grew up.

And I'll add that my dad wouldn't sit around waiting for a job to come to him, he would move our entire family to the job. I guess that's why I went to 7 elementary schools, 3 junior highs, and 4 high schools.

It's strictly my opinion that in every walk of life there are a certain percentage of people who will ask for a handout rather than try to "do things on their own." That includes every group across the board. I think the P4P world is no different than any other in that regard.

Kinda blows don't it? Members have a limited idea of how much work being a mod is but not being able to chime in as freely and as openly as one would otherwise is really quite a sacrifice that people don't really think about. Thanks for all you and the other mods do. I know it's a lot since I've been there myself.

It's so much more fun being a rogue element.

There are providers right here on Eccie that have gotten rather nice settelments for things and then just blew the money on CRAP. (A brand new car when you have kids and other bills, is CRAP.) Then they bitch about how they have no money and no appointments. Even if someone tried to explain why they wouldn't listen. I don't lift a finger for those. Failing is important to learning. If you never fail because everyone bails you out when you're stupid, you will DIE when the experience of failure is paramount for whatever your current problem is and guess what... There's no one to help.... little boy who cried wolf.

I am not speaking of anyone that has posted in this thread btw.

Fox news alert: patronization will continue until I'm SURE you get what I'm saying because I hate explaining everything.

Is it really patronizing someone if it's only them that takes it that way?

And that's why ASPD could never control me. They were dumb enough (thank God) to not make me a mod. I don't think I would enjoy the cage. Responsibility sucks. I have enough.

You know, I am really not one for slinging dirt or starting shit...hell I only post when I am passionate about something....so this really hasn't been a sacrifice for me at all...I really love helping out on the board and giving back to the community that has helped me so much...And I also get a chance to help the lovely ladies and be there for them if they need help, and they feel very comfortable coming and talking to me....and that means a lot to me....So being a mod isn't as bad as it sounds....Hell, I dont know about you.. but I kinda like going to the principles office and getting a few licks from that ole paddle every now and then....that can be very exciting....lol

Sorry for getting of track....Now back to the topic ant hand....
