Maurkice Pouncey was hardly a poor draft pick, and he's the guy who deserves the blame for that particular playoff loss.
People blame coaches for the dumbest shit sometimes. Also, nobody ever mentions coaching when the team wins. It's all completely biased and ill-informed.
Is the coach to blame sometimes? Sure. Every time? Not even close.

All coaches get the blame. Especially when play is sloppy, dumb and repetitive.
First two series of KC game. 3 and out on offense, KC touchdown. Same old shit.
Anyone hear Dallas head coach is on the hot seat? Anyone whining about that?

At least we got a first down on 2nd series, but that’s it.
KC gets another TD on their second series.
No blitzing, no throws on first down, highly paid defense underperforming. Patterson returning kicks which he has no business doing. Seems like I’ve seen this movie before.
Slightly above average team, slightly above average head coach. Way below average assistant coaches.

HO HO HO, THREE IN A ROW
What you just witnessed, if you watched the ahem, game, was the Kneelers playing in three straight playoff potential playoff games, and, they got their asses handed to them three times, if that isn't enough for you to admit they have problems that can't be corrected under current leadership, owners and coaches, then you are part of that problem.
Shoulda bet all three, I was that sure, but I'm not a betting man.
Best fucking CHRISTMAS EVER.
The Kneelers and our standing rib roast are done, stick a fork in them.

A complete embarrassment! Our offense is putrid again. And now our defense looks just as bad. We’ve drafted for the O line the last couple years and that’s far from a strength. Like last year, I can’t think of a team strength.
You have wide open receivers constantly! No blitzing! We did it once today and it worked.
But whatever you do, please don’t put any of the blame on Tomlin.

One can see how good they aren’t when they play a good team.

you have to give a pass to the oline, three starters out for the year including our number one pick
what drives me nuts is ...
1. the defensive schemes... it doesnt fucking change, how hard is it to bring back some of lebaeu's defensive style? fuck cover 2 and 3, blitz the fuckers now and then
2. first down run almost every series...... it just seems like the steelers dont adapt to a defenses" weakness
is it pig headed coaching or is it not have players to do the job?

You only have two things constant over Tomlins career, him running the team, and the owners who have let him pretty much do what he wants.
After 18 years of mediocrity who else is left to blame?

I don’t give the O-line a pass. The only one that hurt was Fautano. Tomlin was forced to start the rookie center and he’s better than the starter.
Meyer will be the next scapegoat. Then another year of shit play so Austin will be the scapegoat after Meyer, then etc, etc, etc….
But don’t blame Tomlin.

Biggest example of why Tomlin will never be a great coach in my eyes is he once again screwed up a red flag. This one he didn’t throw. KC dropped a 1st down pass. 3 Steelers said he dropped it. Tomlin stood there…no flag.
Reid had his team race to the line of scrimmage before Tomlin had a change of opinion(maybe) and get off a play.
Something else a great coach does and Tomlin doesn’t. Ever.

At the time I thought the exact same thing, Tomlin’s team would never had done this, because they’re poorly coached to be prepared for something like this.
Tomlin is prepared to look the other way with his diva players while the other players have to do the same.
Has anyone noticed Baltimore cut their diva WR, no they didn’t just sit him they cut him.
Are we really any better off with Tomlin’s latest additions at QB. Oh yea we may have a couple more wins, still in the likes of Cleveland.
We was embarrassed yesterday, yes embarrassing.

It was obvious how bad this team was when they won TWO games by kicking 6 fieldgoals. Their constant choking on otherwise good drives is a microcosm of the entire season. The D has been just as horrendous, the only decent players are Watt and Cam who, because everyone else sucks, are constantly double-teamed.
