My opinion is it should have never been made illegal in the first place. But since it is illegal now, I say instead of making it legal, just wipe the law making it illegal from the books. I doubt that any politician would like to do that though. They can see an easy revenue stream forming. Makes me sick. BARF!

A few things: though this thread has gone many errr places, it started about a mass murder. Is there evidence linking any of these mass shootings to PT? CT, Columbine, Batman, VA Tech? What role do illegal drugs play in these?

I'm not saying the quote above is wrong, but I'm not sure it is a clear enough correlation to consider it a fix.

What's with all the liberal vs. conservative bullshit? It interrupts and stalls the good conversation. I am coming to the conclusion political parties are detrimental to human progress, but it certainly downgrades good discussion to just lump someone to conservative because he/she owns a gun. Then suddenly that person won't tax the rich, won't feed the poor and will bomb abortion clinics? It isn't necessarily so.

I considered making a separate thread because you are right, my post doesn't directly pertain to extreme mass shootings. You might consider a drive by where 2 people get killed and 4 wounded a mini mass shooting, but they've become so commonplace that we're desensitized to it. The delusional connecticut, columbine or mcveigh type killer would probably figure out a way to inflict their mayhem whether they have access to guns or not . the point of the news article is that, The leading cause of murder is related to the PT trade. 1 trillion dollars spent since the start of this war and the situation is far worse than when it started.

Colorado and Washington are the latest states to "get it".

The US has the highest gun ownership rate in the world - there are 89 guns for every 100 Americans, compared to 6 in England and Wales.

from jack's link

and yet hammers kill more. its not the hammer or the gun.

It's too bad it doesn't break down the murders by gun by the types of guns used. We all know there are good guns and evil guns.
