Interesting point, JS....

At times I wonder if there is some sort of "Super Moderator" competition or quota much like the local police departments and ticket writing quotas!

Should we organize a "Super Moderator" Olympics? Let's see, what events might be included?

No, not at all Bubba. You were a great moderator and always respected your views on topics.

I have never had the pleasure of meeting or corresponding directly with Bubba.

But your reputation as a decent, fair minded individual speaks for itself. In addition, your insights do a wonderful job of reminding
us how to use this forum....and I know I can certainly use that occasional kick in the butt.

Please Bubba, your postings in KC will always be welcomed.

A level headed and experienced hobbist and poster, such as yourself, brings a solid reality check...not only to me, lol...but the entire KC forum.

There has been some discussion in public about threads disappearing and about threads being closed. You will see some of the disappeared threads restored. Some of them have been closed and that is for the appropriate reason.

We want free flow of information to be shared on this board but it will be withing the forum rules and guidelines. Violations will be edited and warned/pointed. But unless it is a nuclear issue you should not see threads disappear. You will see threads closed when needed.

Thanks for being a good sport.

Will be interesting to see if the Great and Mighty Admin decides to stick his toe into this discussion.
IMO, I'm guessing not, since we all know his closing was an over reaction.

But again, wouldn't this be nice, if it was the biggest issue all of us Eccie members were facing, lol

Anybody want to meet at Coach's......I'm kidding, for gosh sakes

EDIT: Modda, perhaps when you get back in town, you can supplement your Eccie income, with some Eccie training income to Admins & out of town Mods on
how to properly inforce St Chris's rules for Eccie land!!!

Be nice if the CEO weighed in.

What questions Malwoody? I'm reasonably sure you all know how to use the PM function on this site correct? My PM box is strangely quiet from any of you concerning this discussion.

Here's the way it works, in KC and every other forum on the site;

If a thread is so hopelessly off track, without some hope of it returning, threads can and will be closed. We have very specific rules concerning thread hijacks, overt rudeness, general disrespect for others. They may not have been as tightly enforced in the past as we would have liked, but now that so much attention has been brought to these KC forums recently, they will be going forward.

It was never the intention to NEVER close a thread, in fact that's what all of these disappearing threads you are all complaining about happened. They were simply moved out of site and not dealt with. That is also changing. Complain about that or complain about threads being edited/closed, pick your poison.

I much prefer to see a thread die a natural death, but when everyone chooses to derail it and degenerate it into what we have all seen here, it will be closed. And warnings/infractions issued because of it, that is how the site is designed to work and how it will work. You all make the decision where a thread goes by what you post, not any staff member. None of us are here to direct threads, you all create them and discuss them without out interference from staff. When you get out of line, that's when you will hear from someone about it.

I invite and encourage ANY of you that have an issue with the moderation here or the site in general to contact me directly, but particularly the two posters quoted above. I am always very happy to have a reasonable and very frank discussion with anyone, as many of you already know and can attest.

Thanks CC for your thoughts...and even making me one of "the two posters quoted above".

So the bottom line was after everything was discussed in the staff room and factoring in St Chris guidelines... the correct thing was to not close out this thread, lol.

Glad we all were able to come to the same conclusions. So really no need for PM's
