I did not say FDR wasn't a liberal. I said the Japanese internment was generally accepted by liberals and conservatives, dems and reps.
It wasn't a "liberal thing", it was generally accepted by the broad US populous. I am not supporting it, just countering the false claim that only liberals use detention camp tactics.
Yes, Obama over promised--all candidates trying to become president (who haven't held the position already) over promise. They all underestimate how little power for unilateral change the pres actually has. The point wasn't about Obama lying or not, it was whether Guantanamo was a "liberal" detention problem and my point was that
it too is essentially bi-partisan. Rep started it, Dem continued it.
