What sets MLK apart from the social activists at Antifa and BLM is what he accomplished and how it was done. There was a crying need for real social justice in this country since it's inception, and MLK initiated that change even as he died.

Equality of opportunity is not equity of outcome. In the long run, we can have the former, but never the latter. If equity of outcome was a real natural dynamic, we all would all be peacefully co-existing with Neanderthals . . .but we don't.

Think of the NBA or the NHL. Both are predominantly staffed by players of different demographics. There is equality of opportunity, but a very different outcome. No one would suggest that the NHL should require teams to include players of some specific ethnicity or heritage on that basuis alone. The same is true for the NBA.
