Opinion: The Arizona Senate's two-hour hearing on the election audit was like one of MyPillow Guy Mike Lindell’s infomercials or Rudy Giuliani’s legislative briefings. Or a Donald Trump press release.

It was long on inuendo, as Logan and his team threw out unverified allegations that the county didn’t bother verifying voters’ signatures on early ballots and that their computer system lacked the basic security precautions of a home computer.

Logan insinuated that 11,326 people cast ballots who weren't registered, that 3,981 registered after the Oct. 15 deadline, that 18,000 voters were removed from the rolls right after the eleciton and that 74,243 more early ballots were cast than were requested, though he says that could have been a clerical error.

Maricopa County officials were livid, saying that Logan’s claim it didn’t verify signatures is “categorically false”. As for his insinuations about poor cybersecurity and illegal voting? They are proof, the county says, that the auditors don't know what they're doing.

On Thursday, Arizona Senate President Karen Fann offered the public its clearest picture yet of the monthslong audit of Maricopa County’s election, holding a hearing with auditor, Cyber Ninjas CEO, and Hugo-Chavez-somehow-corrupted-the-2020-election-despite-being-dead conspiracy theorist Doug Logan.

Logan, whose work pretending to hand-tabulate the ballots and checking for bamboo fibers in ballot paper ended three weeks ago, offered very little about what his “recount” and “forensic analysis” had uncovered. He instead said that he had much work still to do and that he would save his “irrefutable” evidence for his final report. Logan is asking the state Senate to issue further subpoenas to the Republican-dominated Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (who have come to see the audit as a dangerous “circus”) and to let him go ahead with a countywide canvass that the U.S. Department of Justice has warned might violate federal law. Indeed, the only other Republican senator taking part in the hearing, Judiciary Committee Chairman Warren Petersen, made a show of repeatedly insisting that unless Logan is given what he wants, the audit will be “incomplete.

In other words, not much came out of the hearing except the likelihood that, as has been clear for months, the audit will be revealed as a haphazard attempt to cloud the 2020 election results for Arizona’s most populous county in doubt. What did come out, however, was plenty for Donald Trump.

There is absolutely nothing in that video that is substantiated evidence of voter fraud. People looking for voter fraud will believe what they want to believe without any evidence.

In Georgia there was a hand count of votes and it matched the tally provided by the machines. Case closed.

However.. Mark Kelly beat Martha McSally by about 80,000 so-called votes out of about two million plus. Might the fraud evidence lead to reversing that one?

Still waiting for an explanation of why luggage full of ballots were stored under the table, only removed and counted once observers are gone, and why as can clearly be seen on the video, the counted stacks are run through 4-5 times. You can say it's not substantiated evidence all you like... that doesn't mean it's not evidence.

What's the plausible explanation other than the simple one.. they are cheating?

Off topic, that video was from Atlanta. And it wasn't luggage, just storage containers. Fake news, video had no timeline or context.

the official line by the election officials was the the machine was jamming and had to re-run.

I've seen the videos and what both officers scan the machines. what made it difficult to tell if both officers reset the scanning machine due to the placement of the equipment not in front of the camera. you could not tell if they reset the machine.

if they're so prone to jamming, why did they get the machines in the first place?

btw, the suitcase box is how they store the ballots in. its standard equipment in Georgia. it was put there in the morning. the claim was it was a completed scan waiting for a final tabulation scan. the table was covered up too. it was uncovered once in the morning when the purple shirt officer inspected it. uncovered again when everyone left.
