I don't know how effective the masks are which is why I did not start wearing them until I was required to do so. I don't want anyone to be fearful when they see me without a mask. I'm a pretty tall guy so not wearing a mask just draws more attention to me.
And I want to not be turned away from stores because I am not wearing one. Otherwise, I would not be wearing a mask.
I play by the rules though and these are the rules. If people are more comfortable because I wear a mask now, so be it. I don't want to be viewed as a threat to anyone's quality of life. I'm with you, I'm not a threat to you and I want you to know that so I will wear a mask regardless of my opinions about the legitimacy about wearing one. I'll also choose your right not to wear one as well. I will continue to do so. You do whatever you want to do because it's not my business.
Trump thinks masks and Dr. Fauci are stupid. Then he changes his mind. Now apparently he's gone back to his earlier positions, although it's hard to say since you can't find the video he retweeted:
If he'd gone with and stuck with what 2/3rds of America and 95% of epidemiologists and public health experts now know, that masking up is a good thing and Fauci is worth listening to, his poll results would be up 10 points. OK, he'd also need to shut down his twitter feed and learn to keep his mouth shut, but he'd be neck-and-neck with Biden.
And yeah Fauci has "flip flopped", but it's been for good reasons, in response to additional data. Why Trump is flip flopping right now is bizarre. Maybe he wants to lose the election.
Oeb, this is no criticism of you. You do read the science and you do take positions from time to time that are the opposite of your favored politicians.
He's fucking right. Fauci is a chump. Kids can't go to school, Businesses closed down, Can't sit down in a restaurant, people must keep their distance from each other in public, can't go to church and you must wear a mask in public to thwart the spread of a virus. But no restrictions on rioting in the streets, looting and burning buildings and destroying property health officials don't seem to have a problem with that.
I read a similar article yesterday. The only time the Dutch are required to wear a mask is when traveling on public transportation. They are more into washing hands and cleaning surfaces.

Generally agree although I think a person deciding not to wear a mask is "a threat to anyone's quality of life" is brainwashed thinking. I sneezed at the store a few days ago while wearing one of the common nonsurgical blue masks. Totally ineffective. My hand was wet.

I would think that Chump supporters would want to wear masks so they could not be identified as uneducated white males ; they could be incognito !!
Myself, I cannot look at someone and tell if they are uneducated. I would need to speak with them and I would then go by their communication skills, vocabulary, insight, creativity, etc.
Of course, sizing someone up immediately based upon a preconceived notion would tend to show someone is uneducated...
