Half of the so-called trumpy "lies" are petty as hell or grounded in truth. Politifact knows this. So they justify calling a statement "false" because trumpy used "poor word choice". Or because he slightly exaggerated or supposedly mischaracterized what someone else said. And notice how Politifact is too lazy to do their homework. They will now call something a "lie" because it is "unclear where the numbers came from"! If you think someone's numbers are wrong, you're supposed to do some research and dig up the real numbers! Otherwise you haven't proven squat.

Politifact is an embarrassment to so-called fact-checkers. Fact-checkers are an embarrassment to so-called journalism. And journalism, as practiced by the MSM today, is an embarrassment to every thinking American.
This is such a true statement. There was a study a while back that showed exactly how Politifact and other "fact checkers" bias their studies. If you pick and choose which statements to evaluate correctly, you can bias any supposed "fact checks".

The Republican Party used to have something the Democrats didn't, that is, some politicians who wouldn't lie through their teeth, either knowingly or through self-delusion, to score partisan points, like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer do. Jeff Flake's a good example. Well, those people are mostly gone. Or they're following our president's lead despite knowing better. Donald Trump has upended the game. He's taken lying to a whole new level.

So, SpeedRacer and Agrarian, you're right. But, so what?

I didn't vote for Trump. Given a binary choice I would have voted for Hillary Clinton. That's all changed now. As Retired Submariner put so eloquently here not long ago, a new breed of Democrat wants to steal most of what the successful businessmen and investors have created, like the Nazis stole from the Jews. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren say that explicitly. The other announced candidates, through their support of the Green New Deal, imply they'd do the same.

Give me a choice between being ruled by a liar or a thief who's going to steal from me, I'll pick the liar every time.

SpeedRacer, I fear the transition we discussed some months ago, where the Millenials take control led by politicians like AOC and Sanders, may happen earlier than you think.

Tiny you could certainly be correct about the far left possibly taking control of the Democratic party in the very near future. I certainly hope not. I can't understand the love affair Millenials have with Socialism. When I asked a family member in 2016 who he was voting for he said he "Felt the Bern".

No, I won't vote for Trump in 2020. Partly due to his lack of character and partly due to his lack of accomplishments while in office. I can understand voters not voting for Hillary Clinton in 2016. What a mistake nominating her, although I wasn't a Bernie Sanders fan either. 8 years to come up with a viable candidate and the Democratic party failed. Hopefully they will come up with a better choice for 2020.

Yeppers, I've said it from the beginning A.O.C. is the new face of the Democratic party. They gonna lose in 2020.

I do like Pete Buttigieg. But I don't think he'll last. He's not a winner.

Interesting Ellen. I don't know anything about Buttigieg, but read something good about the governor of Colorado, who's also gay and who wants to cut taxes.

There are probably a lot of gay individuals who are Democrats, only because they consider Republicans to be the party of social conservatives. If the Republican Party could open up to the pro choice and LGBT types without alienating the evangelical Christians, it would be much stronger. That is, if they could not take a stand either way on issues like gay marriage and abortion, and still retain the evangelicals, the Republicans would do better.

Moscow Ellen You mean he wont last because hes gay. You have made it quite clear that you think gays are losers. Remember Jussie and you hoped all gays killed themselves

Mystic, Ellen is one of the nicest persons here. She has a calming influence on the place. She's kind and courteous unless severely riled. I love the old quote in her avatar, "Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go to Paris." And, most importantly, she has a love tunnel and you don't.

Anyway, if you'll sincerely apologize, take back the negative things you said and promise to be nice to her going forward, I'll gang up on Lexus Lover with you.

BB, A woman's love tunnel is her vagina. So if TM has a love cave, that means he has a huge vagina. This doesn't really make a difference. I've seen photos of Austin Ellen and she's quite attractive. Also she's a capitalist, like me. So I'm going to continue kissing up to her instead of to Mystic.
