Chica Chaser does not have a plan. If one can't get health insurance where they work, the republicans don't have a plan for them either, other than "just don't get sick" or marry someone from Canada. The republicans would just let the 50 million uninsured STAY uninsured.

If you work at a large company like IBM, ATT, GM or Walmart you will continue to get your health insurance from your employer just like you did yesterday. Our system of government is one man , one vote majority rules. Congress used normal procedures to pass this bill. We know you don't care if the uninsured stay uninsured. However, that is not how Congress voted, so you lose, just like Ron Paul lost.

You are wrong, Fluffy. There was NO debate. It was rammed through committees in BOTH houses on party line votes, and passed in Congress, after threats and promises to Democrats from the President, on a strictly party line vote. Even your fantasy girl, Nancy Pelosi, said Congress had to pass the bill to find out what was in it. In other words, "Vote for this bill. Trust me. No, you don't have to read it, just vote." What bullshit. And what a total fool you are, Fluffy.

They couldn't even get the 6 million to sign up before the ever moving deadline date. The latest figure I've seen in 1.2 million who have signed up but that doesn't mean 1.2 million who have paid.
Some people are positively delusional.
Its a crash and burn failure. Anybody here with a new Obamacare policy got a doctors appt in 2014? That's going to be a shoe to drop next year.
FTA:
WHO'S IN? PART THREE
1 million: People who had signed up for private coverage under the federal health law by Dec. 20, up from 364,682 three weeks earlier.
1.2 million: People the administration originally projected would sign up for private coverage under the law, as of Nov. 30.

No COF, you are the total fool. It's a bill that you don't like. It went through the regular process that congress follows. Just because no republicans voted for it does not mean it can't become law. I don't care if a republican did not vote for it. So exactly what was the committee that Senator Baucus chaired doing? It's just sour grapes on your part, because you don't like the bill. You will have to work a little harder to get more libertards elected to congress(hopfefully that does not happen). The republicans showed Ron Paul the door early. They sent him home with how many delegates? was it 66? LOL.

It is revisionist whimsy to say the ACA passed by normal congressional methods. It was "passed" in a budget reconciliation committee with a cornucopia of bribes, payoffs and pork to reluctant congressmen and senators. If the justice department had not feloniously prosecuted Ted Stevens the monstrosity that no one read would not have made it out of the Senate. Ted Stevens is rolling in his grave, even though exonerated. ACA will likely go down as the most corrupt piece of legislation ever passed. Both the president and HHS secretary have illegally waved their imperial scepters and granted waivers, delays and exemptions to large corporations, unions and political friends, including their own staff. If the Supreme Court correctly finds the federal subsidy for the 36 non-participating states invalid, the entire carcass finally collapses. Read the newspapers, flghtr65. You can retain the façade of your political position if you wish, but facts and history are against this colossal fiasco that will either collapse, as insurance experts predict, or further damage the federal balance sheet. You cannot "give" health care to 30 million people without cost.

There will be people who make less than $20,000 and who live in shelters or on the street who will not sign up for health insurance. There will be people who can afford to pay the premium but choose not to and will just pay the tax. This is where this 9% will come from. It's not that the law prevents them from getting health insurance. The only system that will cover everyone automatically is a single payer system like Canada or Great Britan. We all know the republicans don't want that.
|
Here is why you hate the daddy party; government is not in the business of what you deserve or a lot of child molesters and rapists would be castrated after they sentence (a very long sentence) is over. It is what they deserve. So that 9% crap is a non starter for an argument.
You say that no one is PREVENTING anyone from getting healthcare. Lets get something straight, it is not healthcare but health insurance that we're talking about. Not the same thing. Having one cannot guarantee the other. Ahem, so you're trying to say that no one is PREVENTING anyone from getting health insurance....not true. The "law of the land" now dictates that all insurance policies must have (this is the individual mandate) 10 specific things for an insurance policey to be a "good" party. 5 million lost their insurance because of this part of the "law of the land".
Most people, much less republicans, don't want a single payer system. It is the brainchild of socialists, leeches, and fantasy role players. This is a lot of proof that it does not work with countries with smaller populations.
As for the numbers, they came out today (Sunday) and admitted that 1.1 million have signed up for healthcare which is short that 2 million by almost 50%. Of that 1.1 million, less than 1 million have signed up through healthcare.gov. Of those 1 million we do not know how many went into Medicare and how many went to healthcare. Of those remaining (and we are down to a lot less than a million) we don't know how many have PAID for their insurance plan. You can't play unless you pay (where have I heard that before?).
Face it, Obamacare is a failure and some very smart people are saying that these are the goods times. It gets worse after the first of the year.
As for the process, this will explain it in a way that you can understand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFroMQlKiag

Sure, easy.........
Quote:
1. Eliminate the tax disparity between employer-provided health insurance and individually-purchased health insurance. This would uncouple health insurance from employment and restore a level playing field to the individual insurance market. Individuals could then purchase policies that they kept even when they changed jobs (just as they already do with their car and homeowners insurance).
2. Eliminate all mandated benefits. Insurers should be free to offer to willing consumers inexpensive policies covering only catastrophic accidents and illnesses. Insurers would remain free to offer richer policies that covered varying levels of elective procedures (but cost correspondingly more). Customers could purchase whatever levels of coverage they wished from willing insurers based on their own individual needs and circumstances.
3. Allow insurers to sell policies across state lines. State mandates create 50 separate state markets rather than a single national market. A family insurance plan costing $3,000 in Wisconsin might cost $10,000 in New Jersey because of state regulatory barriers. Allowing interstate competition would quickly drive down prices and help many working families on a tight budget.

If you want to actually do something about healthcare reform of course. And not anything for any political motivations.

If folks keep saying there were 50 million people to be insured by Obamacare based on them not having insurance when the ACA passed, the bill will ALWAYS BE A FAILURE, because it will never reach that goal. Like has been done in past several months, the ONLY WAY it can ever be proclaimed SUCCESSFUL is to "lower the bar" to the realistic number of around 11 million.
It is a typical over sell and "bait and switch" we see reported on this board daily.
It's amazing (well, perhaps not) that "learned" hobbysts would still take "the Obamacare Bait" ...
.. hook, line, and SINKER!!!!

Now you idiots are happy that only 9% will not have insurance? At the cost of screwing the middle class. Fucking idiots.
