Sorry, jo. I know you are VERY experienced with Border crossings, but I have to disagree with this. Yes, Big Brother IS watching. Especially at the Borders. But I don't think you will get extra attention for using different bridges to enter and exit Canada. Savvy travelers often enter and exit at different points to avoid traffic. And the Lewiston-Queenston can be a horrible choice sometimes. It's main function is for commercial traffic, and I have seen delays there of over two hours while the Rainbow has almost no wait.
Here is your best friend: 1-800-715-6722. This is a 24-hour info line that gives Border crossing wait times for all of the bridges in the area. It is updated once an hour, usually by about 10 minutes after the top of it. And it is usually very accurate.
