I don't mind the question and I'm interested as well. I like bars but so many bars/clubs are filled with 20 somethings that don't want my 30 something ass and bars that attract older single women sound interesting but I don't know of any. If the OP finds some let me know.

Just about any wine bar inside the loop or in the Galleria, bars in upscale restaurants in the Galleria Wed thru Sat night, Mexican restaurants with killer Margaritas on Wed nights.

Be prepared to invest a bit of time and money though. When I was hitting up The Tasting Room a while back I made it a point to go in once or twice a week early to mid afternoon for a glass of wine or two to get to know some of the bartenders and waiters.

Showing up in a decent car helps too.

Like others have said, it is cheaper to Hobby.
