there is a youtube video on the steps. i know how to do it but i don't remember how to exactly do step by step. after you put in explorer you will have to find the restore .. yes it may not fix everything if you have spyware on your computer from prior weeks.. but it will restore things to before you caught the virus if you pick the right date.

everyone on here posting probably has SOME spyware that they got over the course of time surfing the net whether they go to porn sites or not. a lot of regular sites its easy to pick up bugs. i use HIJACK THIS software and I also use CCLEANER which are both free. but like you said you can use every software you want its gonna be impossible to clean out everything 100% unless you totally re-boot your system

I'm in no way a computer pro lol.. you probably know 100X more about computers than me.. however i'm saying restoring your computer is so much simpler for computer non geeks

We "professionals" call restoring a pc "FDisk, format Re-install" which in the old days was how it was done.

But reading up on how to use some of those removal tools can save you a LOT of time in the installing process.

Example... a MalwareBytes FULL scan might take 1- 1 1/2 hours on my machine (it has a 1.5 TB drive) and can remove some things saves me the time of doing a restore and re-install.

FDisking ain't gonna happen here. There would be GBs of non re-creatable video (I do have most of it backed up in a "safe" location). It takes about 1hr and 23 minutes to do the full scan withy MalwareBytes on my 2 TB system. Hitman pro takes an interesting approach - they have multiple cloud based virus scan software packages, each with it's own area of expertise. CCleaner is a good idea also. I just removed the same virus for a friend. His IT store of choice wanted to keep his computer for two days and charge him $130. Instead he has agreed to share his UTR with me and pay any cost associated costs with that. His computer is working, but still waiting on the UTR.

What dawned on me when I was doing his computer is this idea. You don't currently have any virus issues. Go into to your control panel and create a new user account (with a password of course) that has administrative rights. Download MalwareBytes. Never use this account for anything except for recovery purposes. If you catch a virus on your regular account - use this account as your "rescue account". When needed, log onto this account, download hitman - or just buy the thing outright. Go into the rescue account, update your antivirus programs, restart the computer in the safe mode with internet connection, run your scans and you're good to go. I'm not seeing a downside with this. A various then becomes a minor annoyance. I would be interested to hear any negatives with this idea. Of course - all should be backed up just in case, in one of the many clouds.
