I am often compulsive in the manner I act/react to things, people, and opinions. I sometimes view other people harshly or unfairly based on stereotypes or other unfounded reasons. It is something I need to work on.
I have spoken with some providers about aspects of their personal lives in an objective, open, sincere, and matter of fact manner, but that was only because they felt comfortable in doing so. I sometimes ask personal questions that they don’t have to answer, but at times some do, perhaps because I may have achieved a certain trust or comfort level with them. Other things they may not want to disclose, and I respect their privacy.
These things I keep in confidence, due to their personal nature, because it isn’t anyone else’s business, not even mine. But if they are willing to be open and honest with me, then I feel comfortable sharing things about me with them. It’s a 2 way street.
IMHO, Jane is a very open minded, caring, and sincere person. If she wants to disclose things to the board, it’s her perogative. Also, it is also important for everyone to remember, “It’s hard to take something back, once you let go of it.” So be very careful of what you disclose or say and how you say it. I try to keep that in mind as well, but am not always successful.
After all this is supposed to be a free country. I have mentioned once before the cliché, “Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.” All Jane wanted to do is let people, who enjoy seeing her, know that there are more things to like about her. And she gets attacked for it. Now that’s not right!
If you want to ask a provider something, you can always send them a private message. And try to have a little class when you ask. Whether or not they choose to address your query, or to what degree they do so, is up to them. And we should respect their privacy. Sure this forum is to help provide opinions and information to those who want to know, but people often lose their heads in here. That's where all the drama and fireworks come from.
And although what’s “On the menu” is key to what I and other fellow hobbyists look for in providers, other things like pillow talk and casual conversation are other things that I enjoy as well. Personality is very important.
