I'm with you Joe. My cell phone is used as a portable phone booth.
I remember my first radio: a blue plastic transistor radio I won at a Christmas party in a movie theater. It even got AM! My first
walkman was made by Yorx - it was 4" by 10" by 10" - no belt clip for this thing, it had a shoulder strap, how fetching!
Still, I'm on my second IPod. I went from a Mini to a shuffle, and the little bugger holds just as much music!
My music selection is predominantly rock: going back to the 60's, 70's arena rock, Alternative from 80's to present. Blues (BB King to John Lee Hooker to Stevie Ray Vaughn). Jazz (Coletrane, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck). Shuffle mode can be a kick when
In a Gadda Da Vida precedes
Take the A Train.

I don't even turn my cell phone on anymore unless I need to make a call. Got text blocking and cancelled the internet access. I'm happy with whatever is playing on the car radio. While the IPOD looks cool, I'm in the mode that less is better. I've bought so much crap electronics over the last twenty years, that I don't see the necessity anymore. One store room has shelves with receivers, amps, tuners, tape decks, speakers, playstations, that are basically worthless. BTW, my VCR that is twenty years old is still hooked up and flashes 12:00 continuously. I like nothing better than to sit down and read a good book.
I'm getting old.
