Thank you, Chloe. I like to think that I am a good person and owe it all to my mom, who instilled in me that I should always treat people with respect and tolerance. The Golden Rule, if you will.
Just as a follow up, our trip to Cancun was amazing! The resort we stayed at was incredible and we had a fantastic time! On her birthday, she got a massage at the spa, and I arranged for a private dinner right on the beach. The dinner was wonderful and she said that it was the most romantic thing anyone had ever done for her. She looked so beautiful that night wearing a gorgeous white dress that I had bought for her, and the look on her face was all that I had hoped it would be. She said that it was her best birthday ever!!
At the end of the day, we are all just people with normal, human emotions. Most often, if we treat people with kindness, that kindness will be returned. If it isn't, move on to those who will. Life is too short to waste your time on asshats.
