Bond was a little misogynistic yet seemed to be appealing to women at the same time. I'm curious, would he be passed through the screening process these days? I wonder if Q issued him a hobby phone?

What a sad existance you live. To think so poorly of your neighbors...and yet continue to be amongst them...simply becuase you can make money off of them.
When everyone else appears to be out of step...a man with intelligence begins to question if maybe it is he that is out of step. Such is the time that one keeps their mouth shut and opens their ears.
Don't mistake your arrogance for intelligence.

He is a total chick magnet and a puto so I don’t think so – besides, he’s single.
Whenever I travel overseas when asked where I’m from or if I’m American, I always answer Texas or Texan. People really are much warmer to Texans than Americans. I’m pretty proud of both.

The one thing that surprised me about the data was how Conservative the populace is. Not sure, why it surprised me, but it did. A question for RK, has the Texas population moved significantly to the right in say the last 10-15 years? Back in the early 1990's Ann Richards was governor, right? If yes, any idea what circumstances have moved it in that direction?
And TTH, RK is being a bit harsh IMO, but he does have a point.

I'm not RK but I'd be interested in seeing the same study cut from just a few years ago (say 2006). I'll suggest some of it is the "I'm pissed so I'll blame whomever is in charge right now"-effect coupled with the increasing attention paid to the immigration issue.

DG, I don't think the philosophcal views of Texans have moved to the right. Almost to the contrary, with the influx of non-Texans into the state, I think the philosophy has moved more to the left...in total anyway.
What has happened, over the course of the decades, is a move from Dem to Rep. Much like your comment in the other thread about southern democrats...Texas...and much of the south...was democrat because their Daddy was a democrat. A holdover from the war of northern aggression. The south was democrat and the north (those damn yankees) was republican. As democrat became more liberal and republican became more conservative, that balance changed...in Texas and throughout the south.
Richards was a bit of an anomoly...and she did not get 50% of the vote. But she had the benefit of appearing to be a strong Texas woman, with much to be admired...and she was running against Clayton Williams who, though he is an interesting character, didn't really make people feel warm and fuzzy for smarts. And he got creamed with his "if your getting raped, might as well lay back and enjoy it" comment. That, of course, did not play well with women and a lot of women were already leaning towards Richards.
And TTH's point is only a point if you agree with his philosophical views. If you don't, then ignorance is in the eye of the beholder. There were a couple of things in the poll that suprised me...but in general, I too agreed with most of them. Since I don't think I'm ignorant, I don't think someone sharing my views is ignorant. Seems pretty arrogant to label an opposing "opinion" as ignorant simply because it doesn't match yours.

LOL. I can see how my comment could have been parsed incorrectly.
RK, I was agreeing with your comment to TTH, not the other way around. I would have phrased it less harshly, thats all. Darn you are tough to agree with

Waiting till the bank account gets big enough to move. And it won't be long. Then adios, motherfuckers. You've hit the nail on the head.
I grew up hear, but the people have changed drastically. They used to be compassionate. Now they don't give a shit about anybody but themselves. Or people who are just like themselves. Racism is a bit better, but not much given that I'm 50 years old. It's still shocking how racist people here are compared to other places I visit frequently. And the influence of the so called "Christian right" -- or the American Taliban, as I call them -- has increased. It used to be that it was only half the Baptists and Church or Christ who were crazy. How it's half the fuckin' population. Just look at the results of the poll you posted. Sad.

Well heck I am sure that there are a few ignorant Texans that would probably take up a collection to help you get out of here sooner. And BTW it is "I grew up here" not "I grew up hear." Hope you have a good legal secretary that can spell.

You're such a pathetic and sad creature, good luck in your next designation. The sooner the better...
