What if you found out your daughter was a provider?

I would worry about her safety, and try to get her to change professions. Not on moral grounds, but because of the safety, and legal issues. She's hard headed (like me) so that would probably be fruitless.

Does this make me a hypocrite? No, just a dad.

I'm being completely honest when I say that I have no freaking clue what I would do if it were one of my daughters. There is absolutely NOTHING I can say to make my own mother be "content" with my current lifestyle choice, and she loves and supports me in EVERYTHING I do. I could approach it in a liberal sense and try and predict whatever I wanted to. But, realistically, I'd probably go bat shit crazy.

You and I have a similar family background, with our uberreligious parents, but both my parents know. The funny thing is, my dad said he would rather see me do this rather than be a fool for some nobody. But my dad has always been liberal sexually (having been in a polyamorous relationship with a lesbian couple, among other juicy tidbits, that man has truly lived!), plus he'll love me regardless. My mother still struggles, but things are getting better. She, in all her Christly Christianess hasn't always reciprocated my love and care for her because of it. Regardless of the INNUMEROUS times I've told her this, she says GOD told her she wasn't treating me right, so she's trying. I'll take what I can get.

My daughter's college/trust fund will most definitely be ready when she is to go to school, and whatever else she decides to do, so I don't anticipate her doing this for a need of money either, Lacy. I really did want her to have a good start in life without the need for men and their money. If she ever gets a SD or ends up attracting wealthy suitors, it would be because she would be classy, cultured and well spoken, like her mother taught her to be.

If she does end up in this industry, I would hope that she could tell me, and I would MOST DEFINITELY have the open mind my mother didn't have with me. Of course it would hurt. But as an adult, it's her right to explore all paths set before her, and it's my job to love her unconditionally regardless of what she chooses.

My mom? That's a no. But I could definitely see my 80 year old granny having a sordid past. She's just a little too fiery for her age, and even more so since she got her knees replaced. She's often said that she had to get them replaced for being on them too much, and we had to guess what she was doing.

I have answered this question before and my answer has not changed. I have a great daughter and we talk daily at least about 5 times a day. I know when she gets home from work and when she goes to work. If she choose to do this I would not be surprised because we have an open relationship. She knows this is a job to me and many of my clients all will hear me say that I just got off the phone with her. I know she is bright and I know she will do a great job at whatever she does in life. If she did this it would be her choice and I would support her and pray she is safe and careful just like I do now. I know several people that tell me if they could do this they would. I dont hide the bad of this and I dont make it like all roses with no thorns. It easy to judge anyone no matter what they do but it is harder to try and understand.

I would not be shocked. Surprised maybe. I would most likely not interfere, except I was asked directly for an opinion by her. Safety would be a concern, of course. But in my family people are tough and generally speaking not dumb, so I`d probably thought they were capable of knowing what and how to approach certain things.

Besides, given the amount of providers these days, I`d be rather surprised if you have a bigger family and there is NO provider amongst it (haha)
