NYT's Top Editor Orders Reporters To "Meaningfully Reduce" Twitter Usage As Musk Joins Company's Board

How's this for interesting timing?

Just days after Elon Musk - a self-described "free speech absolutist" - unveiled a 9.2% stake in Twitter and was rewarded with a seat on the company's board, eliciting cheers from Republicans and conservatives who have long seen their speech suppressed on the platform, the NYT's executive editor has reportedly ordered the paper's army of reporters (many of whom are among the platform's most closely followed journalists) to reduce the amount of time they spend tweeting.

The Washington Post thinks Elon Musk taking a stake in Twitter to fight for Free Speech will be bad because he’s the richest man in the world and we need to “prevent rich people from controlling our channels of communication”.

Zero self awareness.

LOL, Elon is now just fucking with Twitter management

First he says this and this

Then he rejects a seat on the board because they would try to use it to silence / control his voice and limit him to buying no more than 14.9% of the company. Elon Musk not taking a board seat is bullish for free speech coming back to Twitter.

The Twitter employees have to be shitting themselves
Like I said, $3 billion of fuck you money

Well, Twitter stock is down today with the news Musk has rejected the seat on the board. Seems like another buying opportunity. Musk is playing these fools.

Libtards hate free speech and love censorship they can control

Jonathon Turley:

The NY Times calls a free-speech advocate billionaire buying stock in Twitter a "treacherous situation." https://foxnews.com/media/new-york-t...cherous-threat It is not treacherous of course when the Twitter CEO dismisses free speech or social media engages in biased censorship...

Twitter ‘a s–t-show’ for employees since Elon Musk took major stake: report

Elon Musk’s looming battle with Twitter’s board is a source of major anxiety for company employees – many of whom are reportedly worried that billionaire’s campaign to force changes is just beginning.

Musk’s surprise rejection of a Twitter board seat emerged ahead of a scheduled “day of rest” for company employees, according to a report.

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal broke the news on his account the previous night, describing Musk’s decision as “for the best” even as he warned workers they would face “distractions ahead,” Bloomberg reported late Monday.

The uncertainty left Twitter workers feeling “super stressed” about the future, with employees reportedly “working together to help each other get through the week.”

The report cited interviews with Twitter employees who asked not to be identified while discussing the company’s inner workings. Several employees told the outlet that Twitter’s internal environment was a “s–t-show” after Musk’s deal with the board fell through.

One Twitter employee griped that Musk was likely ‘just getting started” with pushing for change at the company – a development the worker described as “unfortunate,” according to Bloomberg.

Musk has emerged as a vocal critic of Twitter’s business practices, taking particular umbrage with the platform’s content moderation policies. He’s also the company’s largest individual shareholder after acquiring a 9% stake earlier this month.

The libtards are in a panic - they are very upset about the prospect of Twitter no longer rigging elections for Democrats and censoring conservatives

All the people who were denying that censorship exists on Twitter are now flipping the script and asking how Twitter could exist without censorship.

Axios - The world's richest man — someone who used to be compared to Marvel's Iron Man — is increasingly behaving like a movie supervillain, commanding seemingly unlimited resources with which to finance his mischief-making.

Robert Reich - Elon Musk’s vision for the internet is dangerous nonsense. Musk has long advocated a libertarian vision of an ‘uncontrolled’ internet. That’s also the dream of every dictator, strongman and demagogue

Of course Very Liberal Glenn Greenwald is one of the few who brings the truth: Like everyone, I have no idea what Elon Musk's intentions are with Twitter. But what I know for sure - having seen it first-hand with Substack, Rumble, Callin - is that few things are more urgent than platforms devoted to free speech and discourse, rejecting messaging control. The attempt to depict Musk's takeover of Twitter as menacing because it means billionaire control of social media is the funniest and dumbest thing I've heard. That's the scheme under which we *now* live, and most establishment liberals are thrilled because they want censorship.

Truly $41 billion of FUCK YOU money

Today During Ted2022 On Why He Is Offering to Buy Twitter

“My strong intuitive sense is that having a public platform that is maximally trusted & broadly inclusive is extremely important to the future of civilization.”

“I don’t care about the economics at all.”

He defines what he considers free speech: "Is someone you don't like allowed to say something you don't like? If that is the case then we have free speech."

. . .

Interestingly, Musk noted towards the end of the discussion that, if his offer is not accepted, he "has a Plan B" which is noteworthy as at the same time. The Wall Street Journal reports that management is planning a poison pill to limit Musk's stake. The fact that Twitter is considering a poison pill to thwart Muck's offer shows they would rather self-immolate than give up their censorship programs. This shows you how deeply committed they are to Orwellian control of the narratives and global discourse. Scary.

Poison pill swallowed

*TWITTER ADOPTS LIMITED DURATION SHAREHOLDER RIGHTS PLAN

Can't wait for the class action suits by shareholders against the Twitter Board for screwing them out of a nice payday. Elon Musk has publicly revealed Twitter management for the corrupt regime protecting Democrats that they are

You’re about to see the entire SYSTEM mobilize to try to take down Elon Musk. They can’t have someone that rich & powerful actively fighting for free speech and to undo the censorship machine the elites have worked so hard to build.

He has smoked them out.

Mika Brzezinski on idea of Elon Musk owning Twitter:

"...he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think –– and that is OUR job."

She actually said this out loud
