This is, by far, the most moronic thread I've ever seen on ECCIE.

Physically yes. But he's dead spiritually and emotionally because he's a puppet on string.

That's interesting. I always thought it was a bit strange that a prop plane would plummet at a thousand feet per second instead at least gliding to some degree. I would think the only way a plane of that type would fall that fast is if it was blown up.

I've flown that route that he was on that day myself. Not that I had hundreds of hours of experience but I never had the same problem that supposedly brought his plane down.

Funny how some people accept the impossible , like 7 kennedy s died in separate small plane crashes ( I would say infinitesimal at best )

Well his plane was a Prop engine type. Even if the Engine seized up the plane could glide to a landing. I am not saying he would survive it, but the plane wouldn't just fall like a rock like some reports indicate. Now if his plane was sabotaged somehow causing an explosion the plane would lose it's structure and descend quite rapidly. Plus he was over water and that's not good.

From what I understand they were calling for fog that night. He wasn’t qualified to fly by instruments. He couldn’t see and flew his plane straight into the ocean. He lost his bearings.

Well Fog or bad weather can cause Spatial Disorientation causing a Pilot to have no sense of a horizon and if JFK Jr. had no skill in flying IFR then essentially he would have drilled himself into the Ocean. But he had been flying since 1982 that's about 17 years. He had a good bit of experience. I've heard many different variations of the cause or factors involved Spatial Disorientation is definitely the main one.

That's when he received his actual license. He was flying with an instructor before that.
