I was confusing the independent contractor rules with reporting paid out income in general. The 600$ rule only seems to apply to independent contractors. It seems BC PayPal isn't actually employing you that they're not held to that rule. I'm far from a tax expert though, haha.
Correct me if I'm wrong but with PayPal if disputed they'll freeze your account and take the money. If using a credit other ways n a client was to dispute it then it would go through their credit card company not the app itself? And they'd be reimbursed possibly but your money not taken? I have zero experience with how that would work.

Elle, I'm guessing from working on the new cam site that you're much more knowledgeable on tax laws and credit card disputes than most would be! I envy your drive n motivation!!!

There are many forms of legal sex work and PayPal doesn't knowingly allow any sex work funds to be crossed on the site, legal or not.

Many of the Canadian and European dolls I play with accept Bitcoin now days. Some girls now require a deposit if you're not a regular. I know I'm pretty happy I bought $4k worth when I was setting up a business in 2012, which never got off the ground. Never really started using it until about 2 years ago when I went to use it for a deposit and realized how much it increased. Awesome investment considering it was a mistake. LOL.

Busty, good point. Camming is legal yet PayPal isn't a fan. Lol.

Is there an advantage to converting cash to paypal? I'm not seeing it. Unless it's a preference thing.

Busty just making it known all merchants will shut you down for illegal activity. Many seem to think its just PP, its been posted on Eccie so many times over the years. haha
I know some merchants are ok for camming/legal adult work.
Bella nah, Ive been running a small business for many years and used PP/Square/Stripe/ect over the years so Ive learned a thing or two. haha. I converted fully to PP because of their cash back Master Card/PayPal credit lines.
The cam site is a whole other ball of wax Im learning since I have to issue papers as employees, etc. haha. Ive never had employees, had to age verify, etc. I obtained a lawyer for it.
Any CC allows chargebacks and you usually go through the issuer/bank. Thats said, PP transactions have their own way you can dispute outside the normal card issuer dispute process. And yes usually the money is on hold until the investigation into the dispute is settled.
Cowboy Im ok with tracked money. Proven income is important to lenders.

I don't generally accept PayPal. It gives your full name and yes, payment can be canceled after services are rendered. Also if PayPal finds out you're using it for sex work they will take all the money out of your account and close it down.Venmo, square cash, or google wallet are better options.
With that said, I have accepted it on a few rare occasions. I had one client from San Francisco give me my entire donation + flight & hotel through PayPal and I've accepted deposits from others a few times before.

Many moons ago when I first started in the Hobby , I was seeing a high end girl in NYC , but she was from Vermont and we were meeting there. As such, she asked for a 20% prepay to limit her risk in case I blew her off. I agreed and paid through Paypal. The date was awesome and no issue with her with the prepay or service. However, after the fact, Paypal emailed me that they were shutting down my account for use of a sex service and they have never let me open another. They have been incredible at tying together any new account I attempted with different address and email etc. I just said Fuck em in the end, but that is not handy as some merchants only take payment via Paypal.
