Except North Korea will simply continue with their programs, (just like they have for the past 50 years), and in the future, probably within five years, they will have Thermonuclear Device, probably at least 1 megaton. And since there are those in the world to help them, (money), they will probably have a ballistic missle with enough thrust and a sophisticate enough guidance system to plant it any where on the Planet.
Keep in mind, the key to building a Thermonuclear Bomb is a Fission Bomb Trigger. (You need the temperature). They already have that, since it is much easier to refine the Isotopes of Hydrogen than it is to refine Uranium 235 or Plutonium, a Thermonuclear Bomb requires just the willingness to build it. The "pressure" is the potential impact on South Korea. If that pressure can be neutralized or minimized substantially, then the leverage would be gone and the shock effect may cause rifts within the military and government. This explanation is lengthy, but the short version is ....
