VM.....you're right.
Some here only want to go on personal attacks.
That's what they do when they don't have a legitimate view.
He's always been like that. Just try to ignore the ignorance.

There's like 48 Asian nations though. So not even in the Maldives? Nepal? Cambodia? Timor-Leste? Bahrain?
Perhaps it's just you that can't stand black people. We'll go with that.

The businesses in the CHAZ zone are not only helping out the protesters with food, water and supplies, they stand in solidarity with the CHAZ movement. You should too. We all should.

Let me summarize
Urban Protesters (Fox News broad brush: "thugs") include:
(1) local citizens, mostly African Americans, protesting police excess brutality;
(2) out-of-town anarchists, mostly whites, trying to overthrow the US government by converting peaceful protests into violent ones with bricks, Molotov cocktails, etc.;
(3) local street toughs and criminals who enjoy property destruction and beating innocent people, they take advantage of anarchist's planning and supply the muscle; and
(4) local impoverished people taking advantage of the lawlessness to loot stores and get some food, liquor and merchandise.
You can't lump them into any one category. It is a mixture of people with different goals, some of them admirable, others not.
Trump Voters (MSNBC/CNN broad brush: "racists¨) include:
(1) Trump cultists who believe Trump has an almost supernatural ability to drain the swamp and bring "winning" back to the USA;
(2) Hard core racists who respond to Trump's dog-whistle tactics;
(3) Evangelicals who believe the deal with the devil to get conservative SCOTUS justices is worth it; and
(4) Principled conservatives who believe it is worth accepting Trump's many obvious flaws because they believe the "socialist" alternative to be worse.
You can't lump them into any one category. It is a mixture of people with different goals, some of them admirable, others not.
We need to stop listening to the 24/7 cable news sources (both sides) who want to escalate this into a war between good ("us") and evil ("them"), because it helps the media make money. Turn that shit off!
Then we need to stop voting based on who we hate the least, and find someone to vote for who we actually agree with. In my case it will be the libertarian candidate, Jo Jorgensen, regardless of whether she has a chance to win or not (obviously not). But I would like to think the ECCIE community would rally around a good and thoughtful libertarian rather than the lesser of two evils, both of which are corrupt status quo choices.

I lot of people will not vote for her because she has no chance of winning....just like you stated. They are more apt to pick what they consider the lesser of the two evils than throw their vote away.
Not admirable but it's the way it is.

That is what the nation has been conditioned to believe. It doesn’t help that the Democratic nomination came down to two old angry white guys, and the winner goes on to face an old angry white guy. With all of the people in this country, is this really the best we could do?

Ross Perot 1992.
I'd love to see a more libertarian leaning candidate but they'll have to run as a Republican and then they loose the Evangelicals and hard core conservatives.
If they run as a Democrat they loose the progressive activists. It's a no win situation that keeps them from getting either parties nomination.
I'd say Trump is anything but status quo and about as libertarian as we're going to get unless someone else who comes from his mold pops onto the scene. Mark Cuban has never said no when asked if he might run. He even hired a pollster to assess his chances in 2020 as an independent. I don't know if he will but I guarantee you he watches everything Trump does. He's very critical of Trump's leadership style but likes some of his policies. He's socially centrist and fiscally conservative. 2024 might see him getting into the Republican fray.

Texas Playboy, remember their are many racists on both sides of the political spectrum. Some sub-cultures in America ingrain it into their offspring from birth. They believe they are oppressed by their color, by the fact they don't obey laws, and as a way to maintain the victim status (both sides). These folks make a lot of noise and state 'facts' that legitimate crime stats don't support. Some of these folks condone the actions of those like them, if they are from the same community. I hate to say it but it seems to me that institutional racism is more accepted on the left than any other place. I see that side really trying to keep it's members in line, heaven forbid someone leaves the fold and follows their own path, the racist venom will come out in many forms.
(One interesting note: for some reason antisemitism is strong on the far reaches of both sides. Neo-Nazi and BLM both are eaten up with it.)
These people don't accept that voting for a person because of the color of their skin (or sex) is just as racist (sexist) as not voting for a person because of the color of their skin (or sex). One should vote for an individual based on the content of their character, the policies they support and the direction they want to take our country.
Just because the liberal media gives you a medium to widely promote your beliefs don't make them right, or correct to be allowed to do so.
tbone2u, I agree, lot of people have been doing that for years. I didn't vote for X, I voted against Y. It sucks.
Boardman, interesting observations. You might be on to something. Going to follow that lead..........
We all should be happy that the riots and violence against innocent people has died down for the time being. Unfortunately I still think a small spark could ignite it again if we are not careful.
Rant over for the day, may peace be with you all.

Will police activity by a white policeman to a black suspect always be viewed as racist ? I am no fan of police, but they are there when you need them.....who do you call ? 911. They have a tough job.

or the inverse... ^ ...
What happens when a white dude gets police attention from a non-white dude ?
Some might view that as an alternative segue to the racist argument ....
