Sadly my favorite place (Mansion on the Hill) is gone. When I get to the big city of Tyler I seldom get to eat any more. Generally business gets in the way.

Default Tyler Eats

Dog,

Mansion On The Hill is gone in name only. Several new and quite good choices. When I get home Wednesday, I will be happy to post again with an update containing names and locations.

Default Good Eats !

OK, here is a quick update on places to dine in Tyler :

Jakes on the Square Downtown.
Villa Montez, formerly Mansion on the Hill
Breakers and Fish City Grill - Good Seafood near the Mall
Yamato - New Japanese Food on the Loop next to Mercados Mexican
Johnny Carinos - Italian - On the Loop
The Always reliable places: On the Border, Cheddars, T.G.I. Fridays

Hope this helps !

On the Border is good mexican food, also by the mall. There is another mexican food place west of there on the loop, starts with a M . Maybe some of the locals will know the name.

My personal favorite eating joint is Bernard's. Fantastic food, great service, good wine selection. Can't ask for much else imho.
