Default Question about posts

I would like to be sent an email automatically everytime someone responsed to a post I've made or put a comment on. How do I do that?

I noticed for the first time you can check a box "subscribe" on the post when starting a new thread to do that (I haven't yet seen if it works like I think does), but I've posted several things already and would like an auto email for those, as well as not having to remember to click that little box. Apparently one isn't just auto subsccribed to threads one starts and I've had to keep checking back to see if responses.

Is that possible? If not, can the feature be added to one's profile preferences? (I thought it was on ASPD Auto emails for threads w/my posts.

I hate getting more email. I turned all of that to off. I would rather look for the dots that have new reply's when I am on.

Aha. One goes to CP -- one's user settings. It's not under subscriptions but rather Edit Options. Click on box and it should work. Yeah!
