Call me Scrooge but this is the time of year I turn my damn car radio OFF and plug my Mp3 player in. If I hear one more Bing song or commercial. Grrrrrrrr Bah Humbug.

I think everyone should give a small gift to those they care about each month throughout the entire year rather be forced to go into debt at the end of the year because of commercial pressure. That's just me.

Well if you are going to be politically correct.... Happy Holidays is best. That way no one is offended. Jews, Christians, Muslims, and anyone who has a one penis Holy.
As for Nuglet MOST correct! And to OP, know where your beliefs came from before vehemently going and defending them. If you'd like an education, pm me. I am a bartender from way back and this is not the proper forum, same as a bar, no religion, no politics.

No insult taken my friend, I knew what you were getting at... and I agree with you. I also don't care to listen to people cry about "the war on Christmas"... I was just a little bored today and thought that I would think outloud (or in print) and hear what my ECCIE friends had to say.

Merry Christmas
Happy Holidays
or whatever applies to you

Damn, I always thought Xmas was short hand for X&%$!mas, now I'll have to find a better way to piss off the holier than thous... (btw, quoting the history of their holiday to them usually manages to piss them off somehow )

Have a Great Fucking Holiday everyone! Maybe that'll be my new acronym (GFH) then add more and it becomes GFHmas!

Happy GFHmas!

Call me sentimental but it's still absolutely my favorite holiday of the year. Too many fond memories of growing up and the joy that holiday always brought. Not for the gifts but for the times shared with family, decorating the tree, the smell of cookies baking, the scent of fresh pine throughout the house, playing in the snow, the hot chocolate or cider with cinnamon, man and the feeling of absolute peace after leaving midnight mass.....is there anything better??!!

Well, a Christian Christmas wouldn't be "merry," anyways. You'd go to church and pray. Maybe sit quietly at home and be grateful for Jesus.

Christ wasn't born in December according to the scripture, anyway.

"Merry" Christmas is simply the Catholic church making a bogus Christian link to pagan Winter Solstice/New Year celebrations and making them a phony Christian holiday.

Presents, trees, feasting, Santa, eggnog, etc. are all non-Christian ideas.

Don't get bent out of shape about it.

If you're a devout Christian, go to church, pray, be thankful for Jesus, etc.

Whether you're a Christian or not, put up a tree, take the day off, exchange gifts, feast, spend time with your family, drink eggnog, share the love, help the poor, etc.

I'm with rCoder. I always thought it was shorthand, to write on the boxes we kept the tree and ornaments in.

I, myself, am an atheist, and a fan of John Lennon(Happy Xmas, War is Over). So, Happy Xmas is my choice for the season.
