I still haven't seen anything that was leaked that mattered, or wasn't already known by everyone except the people who pay for this country (by that I mean the Chinese). Wow! Our government says one thing and does another! I'm shocked!

I think it is just a distraction. I wish someone would leak what we are being distracted from.

Amazon stops hosting the site, Visa stops taking transactions for the site and now the site is under cyber attack. Who has the muscle to pull that off?

Maybe there is nothing worthwhile out there, but maybe there is?

Monger why are you hung up on the sex charge are you saying its being arrainged by our Gorvernment? Obama would not allow something like that would he, come on its not the Liberal thing to do. If it is what your saying then I am confused because only the Republicans and more specifically George Bush would do something like that, but wait, Bush is gone, its not possible, a liberal feel good president doing something like this. The only thing I think that has been released that is damaging is the recent release of the cables concerning areas, if damaged, that would affect us. The embassies were told to list what is vital in the countries they are located such as mines, oil fields, etc. This could be useful to terrorists, but probably not to individual governments. Individual governments should have the resources to gather intelligence of US interests (so they should already know locations we hold vital to national security), but it may be harder, and more logistically impossible for terrorist organizations to gather the same intelligence. So the release of this embassy cable does have the potential to be damaging instead of just embarrassing as the previous memo releases have been.

If you read the Venona Papers you will find that McCarthy was on to something but he was suffering from alcoholism and depression. He went past what he had proof of and destroyed himself.

Maybe I should be more clear; when I said "retract the statement" I was telling DD that he was in error and he should retract HIS statement. After all, he was wrong and told a fib.
Now for KCm; I am a historian. Telling the facts does not imply support. That is a simple idea. Otherwise, you start to sound like a pathological Bush hater. Everything that happened is so and so's fault. Sometimes you have to admit that Hitler did some things to win office that were effective, Stalin controlled an unruly country through fear, the Japanese did a lot with very little, Nixon was never convicted of anything, Custer was a great tactical commander who made a small mistake, Bull Halsey screwed up during Leyte Gulf, and sometimes McCarthy was right.
