Default Oracle Sun buy out

Anyone with half a brain in the IT field knows the two giants Oracle and Sun Microsystems...... interesting article concerning Oracles buy out of Sun for $7.4 Billion and hiring 2,000 sales and engineers

That's great ... I know a couple of guys who work for Sun and glad to hear they probably won't be layed off.

I use Sun Microsystems Virtual Box for system testing. The main reason I use it is because a) it supports Linux, Unix and Windows and it's Free and Open Source. I have tried Micro$oft's Virtual PC with little success.

I just hope they don't kill the VBox, and OpenSolaris projects

VMware is also free with some limitations but its solid software.. I dont know about whats really going to happen to sun... what will happen to mysql and stuff.... 70% of my work stuff runs solaris... We shall see.

Biggest losers will be Sun's resellers - Oracle will squeeze them right out.

I'll keep my eyes peeled in my Slash Dot news to see if anything happens. I know they killed a Cloud Computing idea similar to Amazons that Sun had yet to launch.

I like the idea to keep it out of the hands of IBM and HP.
