Default Lets commemorate Veterans Day

Free breakfast at Hy-Vee.
Free bloomin onion at Outback.
Free meal at Applebees.
Free meal at Golden Corral.

Why can our veterans not get free Greek tours, DATY, BBBJ? Where is the patriotism among our providers?

I would think you would be too stuffed for those activities after all of that free food.

Why do the business give all the free stuff, but the VA closes?

Unless you work for the feds or a bank, you will work. A lot of non veterans enjoy the day off while veterans work. If they want to participate in Veteran's day activities, they have to use vacation. I think Vets should get the day off or at least half a day to participate in these activities or just enjoy some time off.

It has always been free day off to the vets that work for me. No vacation No sick just a day off at their request. Some took the offer others said thanks for the thought but I will be in at regular time.

I actually got it this time because of that. It wasn't particularly funny, but at least I knew you were joking. You know, it would have been a good thread to start prior to Veteran's Day to let vets know what places were offering specials for them. I believe a car wash I go to was offering free car washes for vets. Try to start that thread next year if you remember.

Not free. Somebody has to pay for those so-called free meals. This is an example of Socialist John Galt supporting redistribution of wealth!
