SWC was always tough for UT ... if a SWC team won one game all year ..

1996 = 8-5 ........ First in Big 12
1995 = 10-2-1 ..... First in SWC
1994 = 8-4 ... Tied for First in SWC

TCU beat Utah and should be #1 next week. But, I am sure they will take a fucking from the BCS. There should be a playoff system. The same teams shouldn't be factored into the system every year. SHould be more like the NCAA..............All the excuses not to do it is just that..........EXCUSES

Mac Brown is turning into David McWilliams right before our eyes. Without Vince or Colt he is shown just what he is. Good recruiter but terrible on field coach. I see him gone after next year.

I agree with you that this could be the end of the Mac Brown era. Longhorn fans don't tolerate losing seasons. Mac came to UT right after Mackovic's losing season in 1997.

But I don't see how anyone can call Mac a terrible coach in any manner. Entering his 14th year at Texas in 2010 with a mark of 128-27, Brown had the best winning percentage (.826) of any coach in UT history.

I'm not sure how college works where you went, but if you graduate in summer '97, you aren't part of the 1997 football season.

Seeing as how you consider me a youngin, maybe you'll better understand my dates of attendance in sundial terms:

08/92 - 05/93 6-5, but we beat OU.
08/93 - 05/94 5-5-1
08/94 - 05/95 8-4, but we beat OU
08/95 - 05/96 10-2-1
08/96 - 05/97 8-5, but we won the Big 12

Combined record during my glorious 5 years:
37-21-1. There is 1 year that would qualify as a decent year in the Mack era. Aside from that, winning the SWC with a bunch of frustrating losses are not good years.

Dude.... The Longhorns may suck this year but they are still "My Longhorns", good or bad.... It was tough there for a while after Royal left, and Mack brought us back from the cellar with 9 straight 10 win seasons.... It's a rebuilding year, simple as that.... Do I like it? Hell no..... I have gotten spoiled, as have every other Horns fan out there.... And just my 2 cents, McCoy's little brother is not the answer..... There is a Houston kid by the name of Conner Wood who is waiting patiently on the sidelines for his turn.... 6'4" 225lbs and a rocket for an arm.... He is the one that will take us into the next few years.... It's time for Gilbert to take a seat because he is totally in-effective running this offense..... 58% completions with 7 TD's and 14 interceptions.... And if all that isn't bad enough, Muschamp's defense cannot stop the run, AT ALL... Wakeup is correct in the K-State only threw the football 4 times all night.... 4 TIMES....

So boys, this year is a bust.... Looking forward to 2011.... HOOK'EM HORNS!!!!!
