Default Social Networking - Hobby Friend or Foe?

Since so many other businesses use social networking to advertise it caused me to wonder how the average hobbyist felt about providers using such things to 'advertise'. Sites like Facebook do have their drawbacks like no nudity in photos but what are the advantages? As a client would you use a special hobby social networking account to keep track of what your favorite ladies were doing and when they would be in town or does it just seem like too much trouble waiting to happen? As a lady do you use Facebook and Twitter to announce tours and such?

Isn't that pretty much what this is? I'm not a facebook user so it is not meant to be a flip question.

Thanks,

Yes, it is but with Facebook you could potentially get only ads from providers that you were actually interested in seeing or ladies that you had seen before. It can take a lot of time to sift through ads to find a lady you'd like to see. Like when a lady is touring to a different area she might post to her Twitter account "Going to be in Shreveport on the 26th & 27th" and then her fans in Shreveport would get that on their feed.

In part it's because I've heard that a lot of people don't check the boards that often and some places have hobby sites blocked completely. Would social networking be as useful as say, a Yahoo group? Because it sure is a heck of a lot easier to use.

Good points. I'm surprised most IT departments don't block the social networks to. Sounds like you have a new marketing tool in your kit.

Good luck!

Yahoo Groups seems to work for what you are looking for. Being I have not setup a group I don't know if you can set it up where only you can decide who to let in, But from my side I'm able to select to receive email notification of updates & posts, which I have setup in my email account for those messages to go directly into my fun folder rather than my inbox.

I think Twitter would work. It's fairly anonymous, and you can post links to pretty much any kind of picture you want. Seems like it would be a good option, especially for providers that travel. Hell for any provider.

Personally, I think a hobby facebook account is too much trouble. But to those that run the site: it's would be great to incorporate some social networking into the site here, i.e. for a provider to link her twitter account to her ECCIE account and for her latest tweet to appear below her name with a link to see more.

Either that or status updates built into this site with similar functionality.

What do you think?

I think it's a fantastic idea. Either that or the other way around where we could link our Twitter and it could feed our latest ECCIE posts. That way hobbyists could follow their favorite ladies and would be updated on tours, specials and other events.

Yahoo groups scream PIMP because in my years around Dallas, probably 98% of the Yahoo groups are created, owned and set up by the pimps.

Plus the stupid fuks who use their work email to join and even better, send their screening information to the entire membership always makes me laugh my ass off.

Can't even begin to count the number of ass clowns who have sent their P411 to the entire membership list......

The more exposure a client has on the net, the more likely someone he doesn't want to find him WILL. Same for most escorts.

Laz, it's things like exactly what you just said that stop me from using the Yahoo group that I have. However, not all the ladies who have Yahoo groups have management. I personally am 100% independent and plan to stay that way for the foreseeable future. No reason to hand over my hard earned cash to anyone but the mortgage company, right?

Yahoo groups can be touchy, volatile things and if you don't know how to navigate them they *can* cause a lot of issues. Twitter has that silly character limit, even in their private messages to people so I could see that causing some problems but other than that, it may be a solid advertising area.

First anything posted on the the net can be controlled by another including eccie accounts, being unless you have a cam on their computer you don't know who is doing the typing. But if you are joining her group after already seeing her then that shouldn't be a issue, otherwise you wouldn't be joining her group.

Second I didn't get the impression that she was planning to use it for screening, but to keep those that have already seen her updated to her travel plans or specials, so there would be need to even send screening info to the group, being that would have already been done prior to meeting her. So if she wanted to run a special for repeaters only this would be the way to being everyone in her group would be considered a repeater being they have already seen her. And she could leave regular rates posted elsewhere for new clients.

Third this would more private (unless you chose to post on the group which would go out to everyone)

So looking at that way being it would be a Adult group she could also post pics, vids or whatever to her group members and still stay out of the limelight.

Now of course this would only possible if the settings permitted her to be able to choose who she lets into the group (being I have never setup a group I don't know), say by means of something that was said during their session that she would remember.

So basically she would be using it as a notification tool. And the members can set their own way of being notified via email or I believe you can set it to sent the messages to your phone.

Now after thinking more this would only work if the group is NOT posted in the public view, hence defeating the usefulness of outside mangement (and from people wanting to use it for screening) and make it a private community for her to communicate with. In otherwords not shown or listed in ads in the general areas that non-members can see. So only those on her perferred list (which would be her group members) knows what's up, without having to check boards for info.

Which is part of why I think that social networking may be a great option. Adding people is easier on those sites than it is on Yahoo and you can restrict your feed, photos, information and pages to approved friends only. I don't know if Facebook or Twitter casts a management shadow or not though, it will be interesting to hear what everyone thinks about this.

I'm still trying to figure out the Facebook thingy in my real life. I'm not sure how all the privacy controls and feed-limiters (if there are any), groups, likes, follows, etc., work, so I'm being cautious. Same with Twitter.

Without knowing anymore, though, a couple of possibilities present themselves. First, a lady could use a Twitter feed to announce her availability for last-minute appointments. A tweet as simple as, "I'm free for until 3:30 today," would make it really easy for a short-notice client to connect with her. Conversely, "Not available for the rest of Tuesday" would allow some guys to move on to Plan B.

Second, Facebook might be an aid to screening. If you want to see Lady A and she has Lady B as a friend, and you've seen Lady B, you'd know the two were on good terms, and a reference might be more easily given. Or maybe Lady A has Guy B as a friend, and you know Guy B, and he'll vouch for you. Either way, knowing who knows someone and who's on good terms with someone could come in handy.

Too much of an aid to police with that much networking online for everyone to see
