Brett Favre's off the field pursuits
Deadspin is reporting that Favre sent lewd text messages to the infamous Florida State hottie Jen Sterger while he was playing for the Jets in 2008 and she was employed by the Jets as a sideline reporter. Now, I would have to admit that if I worked at the same place as Ms. Sterger, I would have to make some attempt at pursuing her or I'd always wonder. I just don't think that sending pictures of my cock and lewd text messages would be my preferred manner to court her. Maybe that shit worked for him in Green Bay, where the Packers are pretty much "cock of the walk" (HAHA), but it looks like his game didn't play to well in New York. The NFL has already announced that they are also investigating Favre's conduct and he may end up getting suspended for violating the league's personal conduct policy, which would end his consecutive games started streak that dates back to 1992. Deadspin keeps reporting new updates to this multiple times a day it seems. Anyway, check it out for yourself.

This is the stupidest thing the NFL has ever done, so he sent some e-mails, did she ever tell him to stop. Did he stop when she said to. If anything his wife should be investigating not the NFL. He did not touch anyone, did not stab anyone, did not get caught with a gun, or shoot himself in the leg. This is as dumb as the tiger deal. What and who he fucks is not one business. I mean this happened in 2007 and she is just now releasing the information, sounds like someone looking for a pay day.

I agree that it would be a pretty BS reason to suspend him. Pretty ridiculous that this stuff would be what ends his streak and not a crushing hit by a linebacker.
I would bet that most of these pro athletes have such massive egos that they can just have any woman that they want. I'm sure he did in Green Bay. Hell, the women there probably offered to tape the liaison so that their husbands would be proud and have Favre memorabilia.

I agree with Dirty Dog. The first thing I thought when I heard the story was that this girl is looking for some publicity or a pay day. If this really happened two or three years ago, what took her so long to come forward?
Besides, how can they suspend Favre for sexting when they only gave Roethlisberger 4 games for rape? Two of them!

Another chick who is looking for the limelight and for a payday. If she was so offended, she should've came forward right after it happened.

or abuse a bunch of animals.......
Absolutely. First, don't know the facts yet. But why 2 years later? and released a few days before he comes to NY to play Jets on MNF? Fishy.
I don't know Brett, but I played a round of golf with him a few years ago in Mississippi, super nice guy, and I've always been a fan of his rocket arm, toughness, zest for the game. Just like Tiger episode, will be disappointed if he hurt his family. Seems to be the norm with people lately though

Just another jock being stupid. As usual, defended as though he should get a free pass because of who he is. If she is claiming harrassment, the NFL should investigate. They are a private entity with rules, hypocritical and crazy as they may seem. Not defending her, don't know what her motives are. If one is stupid enough to send explicit texts, then deal with the consequences. If his family is hurt, it's his fault, no one elses. Do this to one of your co workers and see how much sympathy comes your way.

I wonder what was going through his mind as he took the photo of his junk, punched in her number, and pressed SEND: "Oh yeah, she's gonna call." Seriously?!?

To have sexual harrassment the female must have told him to stop the males actions, once this has been done then its harrassment. He's not getting a free pass, why would a person who was harrassed and offended wait two years to report it, in your office if the individual waited to years to report it would it be taken seriously, doubtful. There is nothing to defend in this case because he did nothing wrong other than attempt to cheat on his wife.

So if I am in the office, pinch a lady's ass, and she doesn't tell me to stop, that's ok? Yeah, right. She could keep quiet and report me without telling me anything. There are many cases that are reported years later that could be legitimate, there are many fallen politicos that have found that out the hard way. Nothing to defend? Snap a shot of your balls, transmit it electronically to someone, if it's between consenting adults, no problem.
If it's not, well that is why there is investigation. Kudos to the old guy for knowing how to text.

From Ms. Sterger's actions since this thing became public, it looks like she is more embarrassed about it than Favre is. So I don't necessarily buy the argument that she's looking for a payday--of course, if a lawsuit for "mental anguish" gets filed a couple of months from now it will be different.
What bothers me more is the allegation that he did the same thing with other female employees of the Jets, including a massage therapist. Since I doubt NFL teams employ FBSM providers, it would definitely create a hostile work environment:
Supervisor: "What do you mean you don't want to give our franchise quarterback a massage? He's started fifteen thousand consecutive games! He's stiff!"
Massage therapist: "Umm, well, uh, that's kind of the problem."

There's a big difference between touching someone and sending them text mesages. As far as I have seen and read he never touched anyone.

Dont you find it interesting that these are all people who work for the JETS, there are 31 other teams in the NFL are you telling me that the only time this dude got horny was in NY. And again, how come it took them this long to report it also. Something does not sound right about this deal, as they used to say something smells fishy.
