As long as there is the internet, and newspapers and such, they are not going to eliminate the escort ads. I wish they would put more focus on catching these people putting underage girls in these ads and using them to make money on this issue. Just another reason I believe prostitution should be legalized, and decriminalized.

The reason why Craigslist is cleaning up their act is because they have had issues in the past. Backpage, not so much, and backpage has a higher cost for placing ads.

A CL ad in the adult section was 10 dollars. A BP ad in the adult section (for Dallas) is $12. Not that big a deterrent. BP will likely be the next target simply because anytime you advertise puppies and hookers on the same site, eventually the puppy owners are gonna be upset that we lowlifes are ruining their morals and sensibilities.

Yes, this is a revolving circle. Someone is always going to be targeting these sites for one reason or another. I do think that more focus needs to go towards finding those responsible for selling child sex slaves, as well as sex slaves from other countries. Unfortunately, it's too easy to lump it all into one category and blame the oldest profession in history for the child sex slaves.

OK, we all agree that forcing minors into the sex industry is one of the lowest things that anyone can do. What does that have to do with Craigslist? Has anyone here ever seen ads for child sex on CL? Has anyone here ever responded to a sex ad on CL and showed up to a session only to find a child waiting there to perform?
I honestly don't understand the child sex connection here. If someone has some CL links showing such a connection, I would love to be educated.

As a matter of fact the one of the reason CL was under fire was because of under age girls being listed. On one report a cop said thait when a girl didn't post pictures of herself or did't include a face pic there was a chance she was underage. On another report from Florida they were focusing on pimps using CL. The ads used to be $5 so it was the cheapest and fastest way to advertise. One girl from CL was 16 and she was caught when a cop saw her getting in a room with a much older male. Vice also checks out hotels not just amps.

Over the years that many of us have been here or on the old board, there have been a lot of posts/reviews/alerts on CL girls. I have to believe that something would have been said somewhere along the line if anyone had actually encountered an underage girl.
Not saying that it could never happen, but it was probably so rare as to be almost non existent, or else mongers like us would have heard more about it apart from the sensationalizing that the cops and media like to do.
