What a stinker!! The dirty SOB thinks he should get to keep more of his earnings. The nerve of some people.

And here i waste my time wondering how many people who are smarter than me, more capable than me and harder working than me are out of work or just barely getting by simply because they're not as lucky as me.

I guess i just need to change my way of thinking to convince myself that everything i have that he or she doesn't, i deserve and he or she doesn't.

Muslim is a religion, not a race. If, in fact, his father was a Muslim, that does not make him Muslim. My father was a Mormon, does that mean I am a Mormon? I think not! There is no proof that he is a practicing Muslim. He is, in fact, as far as I can tell, a practicing Christian.

I could care less if he is a Muslim. I don't care if he and Michelle have wild swinger's orgies in the Lincoln bedroom. Just do the job, man.

Not necessarily. I think the system is fucked -- arbitrary and extremely inefficient, but I never said I was paying too much relative to my income. What I don't want is my taxes raised to pay for payoffs to special interests -- thats the major problem with the system -- too many loopholes on the tax and benefit side. All things that the government doesn't need to be involved in.

And I don't want to pay more to cover the cost of crony capitalism -- like the sweet deal Goldman got in the bailout or the way UAW got from Government Motors.

That is my primary objection -- I see the whole system as a rigged deck.

And mostly I hate the fact that this nimrod thinks playing more and more blatant versions of this game isnt going to effect the economy. Who is John Galt?

I realize you Toots, Tushy, Dopey et. al. aren't real quick on the uptake....so you call us (anyone not in lockstep with BHO) all Republicans...when in fact most of us would be all for a good orgy (assuming all consenting adults, etc.)

It is a waste of time to wonder. If you want to do something write a check to them...or give them some of your stuff. It's not that hard to figure out how to be noble if you want to. This isn't brain surgery here.

But it ain't noble to take someone else's money and give it to others.

Well Doove, luck is a factor in poker too, but the good players win in the long run (it would be a pretty stupid game if everyone got the same cards.) So I guess effort is a factor in success.

You mean the fictional character? Who cares? In real life, show me someone who makes $249,000/yr, and i'll show you someone who would rather make $275,000/yr. Because the road to $300k, $400k and $1.5M runs through $275,000.

The day Barack Obama relies on fictional characters to dictate financial policy is the day i'll call him a nimrod too.

Though i'll add, if he's going to pick a fictional character, perhaps Jesus Christ would be a better one to use.

And i noticed your examples of excess didn't include Boeing, Lockheed Martin, or KBR. An oversight, i'm sure.

Being in a mixed economy, it's going to happen whether you like it or not. That's how our system works. You should know that.

It's not very noble to allow 19, 20, 21 year old fathers, sons, husbands, wives and mothers to go off and die in war for you either. But you're plenty willing to let it happen i'm sure.

Except that guy probably isnt investing in a business or hiring anyone. But like most liberals you don't understand the difference between salary and income

Galt is a metaphor, not a roadmap. And I thought you Libs believed in separation of church & state.

So if a guy has $4 or 5M, what the hell is he doing with it instead? Just sewing it up in his mattress? spreading it on the floor and rolling around in it? Hell no. He's still investing it, but just going to get a bit less return since he's paying a tax rate that is historically more normal.
