Yeah, it is remarkable, isn't it? I actually do love a happy ending as much as anyone (I'm a girl in some ways.
). And I'll tell ya, back on that other thread I wouldn't have given you a snowball's chance of this turning out this way. So I say, cool. Nothing says it can't work out that way and when it does it's usually when everyone puts ego aside and considers what they have in common, and how they really should be supporting each other.
While I'm at it let me acknowledge here what I did to Heather -- I said some really over the top things to her. As I attempted to explain to Heather, I come from a background where presenting one's viewpoint (and politely destroying someone else's if it is susceptible to that and you see a weakness) is considered a gentleman's avocation.
So when she seemed to have stepped over the line toward me personally it was just part of the game to hit back where I though it might hurt, personally. But it never was personal. And I actually DID want to get out of what I thought might be a situation that would escalate beyond my comfort level, which we'd exceeded anyway.
I really am here just to have fun. I hope anyone I've offended would let that temper the offense. I don't LIKE everybody I know here, but then one can't really know anyone here. I am actually very live-and-let-live toward differences in people. There are some human crimes I won't forgive, but I try (and largely succeed) in finding the best in my friends and ignoring the peccadilloes of those I might not normally chose to be around much. And just damn-near
everybody is interesting in SOME way, and "normal people" are often not at all as interesting as folks whose hub is a little off the center.
I apologized to Heather and hope she never gives another thought to our spat. I am feeling gentle these days (had my "orgasm of ugliness" on that other thread
) but that's not a promise that I cannot be pissed off.
P.S. SHT, I just looked at your handle. It's gay, in my opinion. No real man would use the word Thickie as part of his name. Interestingly, Sir Thick 'n Hardy would have had a completely different and much more desirable effect, unless you in fact ARE gay, in which case it was a good choice. If you politely petition the Dallas Mods they may allow you the change.
