Default Any ideas on good restaurants?

Hi i'm Makenzee and I'm from Dallas and I will be in your area in a couple of weeks.
I was wandering if you have any recommendations on where to eat?

I like Shrimp like at Bubba Gumps.

Downtown has a variety of restaurants with Water Street Oyster Bar, AKA Sushi Bar and Restaurant, Joes Crab Shack, Crawdaddys, among others. For italian there is Mama Mias. It just depends on what part of town you are staying in.

Water Street Oyster Bar is a favorite of mine from when I was younger.

I haven't been back to Corpus in years, but I'm touring there in a few weeks myself. How is the nightlife these days? Any recommendations?

all dependent on what you are looking for...if you like country..whiskey river....just a casual bar...the martini bar is fun....murdocks too......upscale club....downtown at aria....let me know if you have any other interests and i will be happy to do some research prior to your visit...

Here's the lineup for our All-Star team:

Italian: Mama Mia's
Seafood: Yardarm, Water Street Seafood (or Oyster Bar)
Asian: Viet Nam, Thai Spice
Steaks: Katz 21
Sushi: AKA

All of these are downtown. In Corpitos it doesn't really matter where you are, nothing is more than 20-30 minutes away.

If you can make the 5-7pm happy hour at Water St Oyster bar the oysters are $5/dz/deal (assuming they aren't all full of 10w30 oil yet)

RJ/ a fat guy who knows good food

I agree with rjdiner- all but 1 anyway... Republic of Texas for steaks! Great atmosphere and even better food! All of the rest are spot on though!

Damn bro, that's exactly what I would suggest. Although the "Black and Blue" steak over at Niko's is quickly becoming a favorite. I guess great minds do think alike.

I'm going to add an obvious choice:

Mexican: La Playa (The pink one on SPID)

Rudy's for BBQ! Best in Texas.

At least that's my point of view.

I think the best sea food is at the Yardarm. Small place but very good. Besides all the male wait staff are from France. Heavy accent!!
