SS and Medicare are in the black. That would be a SURPLUS. Those programs need to be adjusted.
Defense spending has been and will continue to be in the red until we raise taxes enough to cover it or lower the amount we spend.
The big lie has always been that SS and Medicare are the problem. The problem is that they will no longer have this huge surpls from which Defense can raid.
Simple MATH , just like Clinton said.
You Tea Pukes seem to have a hard time with subtraction and addition.

Everyone knows (well maybe not EVERYONE) the internet started off as a typical government program, the ARPANET, designed to share mainframe computing power and to establish a secure military communications network.
It's the free market and commercialization of the internet as ARPANET got de-classified, which made it more accessible to the public, that made it exponentially popular.

Apparently, the Wall Street Journal, America's most widely read newspaper, didn't get the word.

the joe blow types in fifty years will be claiming the private sector created space travel...
You have to hit the lying SOB's over the head with the truth or their lies will become the narrative.

I wasn't aware the Wall Street Journal was your bible. I go by actually researching the internet, not just by googling and picking whatever article leans in your favor.

Your intellectual standards are an inspiration for us all. You're clearly squandering your great intelligence. Have you ever considered getting a real job?

Who are all these people who claim they know me so well? Are you living in my attic, peeking at me through the vents?
Thanks for your heartrending concern about my economic well-being, but it is not needed. Seems like you happen to have a full time job being a delineator of stubbornness, does that come with benefits?

There you go again...
I notice Joe tries to resort to sarcasm when he is exposed for how wrong and ignorant he is.
Not surprising really.

You know they have no more basis for their argument when they start getting personal in a strictly political thread.

Careful don't say fuck, you will hurt JB's fragile sensibilities.
You gotta speak to JB as though he was a southern debutant and add a few "I do declare"s in the mix if you expect him to reasonable and competently answer a question.
