Republicans To Restore Constitutional Government
Well, parts of it, anyway.
From the article:
The Republicans insist, for example, that every act of Congress "cite the provision of the Constitution which permits its introduction," but they still manage to support all sorts of constitutionally unauthorized programs, including subsidies for farming, education, adoption, and home ownership. The Republicans love federalism, except when it comes to physician-assisted suicide, which they want to prevent via the Controlled Substances Act, and marriage law, where they insist on the one man, one woman definition enshrined in the Defense of Marriage Act—which, according to its author, "has become a de facto club used to limit, if not thwart, the ability of a state to choose to recognize same-sex unions." Republicans are very big on limits to executive power, except when the president claims to be protecting national security, an area where he is "the lead instrument of the American people." They are keen on freedom of speech, as long as it does not involve sex or flag desecration. They like the Fourth Amendment insofar as it might be relevant to unmanned surveillance aircraft (except near the border, of course); otherwise (as it pertains to warrantless interception of email and phone calls, say, or to collection of third-party records such as geolocation data), not so much. They are fans of the Fifth Amendment's Takings Clause but cannot spare a word for due process, perhaps because it might raise uncomfortable questions about their support for indefinite detention and summary execution in the name of fighting terrorism. To be fair (if that is the right word), the fact that Republicans favor such policies even when a Democrat occupies the White House suggests their authoritarianism is even stronger than their partisanship.

The "Constitutional Provision" is a great idea; and another incremental step that the Tea Party is promoting that will move us closer to a Constitutional Republic.....
Step by step is how a country of 300 million citizens will be moved; the idea of a Libertarian Revolution thru a single national election is baloney.

Doesn't look to me like Romney will move us much closer at all.

That will depend on alot of factors; including how many House seats the TP wins and if the GOP takes the Senate.........

I will believe it when I see it. Like stated before, the primary difference between the two parties is that the Dems want to use a bullet train to take us over the edge of a cliff and the Reps are fine with the diesel engine.

John Boehner as Speaker. Mitch McConnell as Majority Leader. Nothing will change. The Tea Party and Libertarians will be expected to toe the RINO line if they want to advance.

John Boehner needs to go; and Jim DeMint should take over leadership in the Senate; and it is a possiblity if the Tea Party delivers Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, and several other swing states.....

Gridlock is good. It means they aren't screwing things up.

You display your ignorance CJ; the fillibuster, threat of fillisbuster or closture rules are almost exclusively used by the minority party.......so it will be the Democrats who will be envoking such manuvering....

Yeah, except and of course, the idea of what the wording of the Constitution means is left up to a bunch of right-wing crazy whackos who have no idea how to interpret the Constitution unless that interpretation just happens to comport with their lunatic ideas. Thank god for the judicial branch of the government. Just another reason that shows why the founding fathers understood that mob rule shouldn't trump rule of law.
